This was an interesting show. Some episodes utilized a laugh
track, yet others did not.

I believe Jackie Cooper was a major influence on the fact that his series, more often than not, eliminated the laugh track. He was very proud of the fact that he worked on this series, as an actor AND director, and could accomplish things most other comedies couldn't at the time. Unfortunately, 20th Century-Fox owns the rights to "HENNESSEY" [as they control the Four Star TV library], and really doesn't care about releasing it on home video. To them, it's a "lost series" that doesn't deserve revival.
