A few days ago, I was watching The Jeffersons on TV Land. It was the episode where Gladys Knight made a guest appearance. George had given Florence a bunch of money to get a treatment at the beauty parlor.
When Florence was at the beauty parlor, part of her facial treatment was having some sort of green goop on her face. Well, while she was sitting in her seat, Gladys Knight was sitting right next to her. Florence never even realized that it was Gladys because Gladys also had the green goop on her face, but Gladys did sing a song for Florence. She sang some church song about a rugged cross. She sounded beautiful. Florence was so silly! She told Gladys that she needs to "work on it." LOL! :talk: She also told Gladys that her favorite singer of all-time is Diana Ross.
It was great when Gladys Knight showed up at the Jeffersons apartment. She wanted to thank Florence for paying for her tip at the beauty parlor. Then she sang along with Florence's church choir group.
It was a lovely episode, one of my favorites! :)

George mentioned that Diana Ross was one of his favorite singers too. Welcome to the Board

Yes, George did mention that.

Thanks for the welcome, TVResearcher. The Jeffersons is great. I love the Tom Willis dance! LOL!

Mother Jefferson is pretty annoying, but I guess she was sort of funny at times. She made poor Louise feel like chop liver, but she was always so "sweet" to George and Lionel.

Florence's insults are hilarious though! :happyface :D

witch season was Glady Knight was on The Jeffersons
I'm not sure which season it was, but it must have been one of the newer seasons from the mid 1980s, because George was a bit heavier than he was in the 1970s. George (Sherman Helmsley) was so skinny way back in the day. :happyface  :)

i usually can tell by the hair styles that weezy was wearing....based on that....i'm going to deduce that it was 1982 or 1983....but don't quote me.

That was an okay season! But the first episodes from the 70s are the best in my opinion!

The Jeffersons were successful, resilient, brave! They moved on up from that house next to The Bunkers on Howser St., Queens all the way to NYC in a high-rise that had 4 bathrooms! :) :D

Hilarious episode...Gladys came to the place to give Florence the dollar she tipped the lady at the spa. George and Louise starting taking pictures and she was like I'll give you another dollar if you ask these people to stop flashing the bulbs in my face.................LOL
When she starting singing, George and Louise were sitting on the couch just bouncing like children...One of my favorites
