Hey folks i'm a big Will Farrell fan, i think he was hilaroius in Anchor Man, but after checking out reviews on http://www.atthemoviestv.com where Roeper gave Blades of Glory a thumbs up, his weekly celeb guest Lemire gave it a thumbs down sitting its just Ron Burgandy in a ski outfit. I tend to agree with her with a lot of hesitation, i think one or two more movies like this might start boring us. What do u guys think. Should he stick with the same roles or should he start pursuing other roles such as the one he had in Stranger Than Fiction ? Has anyone checked out Ebert & Roeper's site before? I use it a lot when deciding what movies I watch in theaters and rent on DVD. Well let me know what you guys think of the site and about Will Ferrell.

Actually the current issue of Entertainment Weekly has an article about Will Farrell and asks the same question. How long can he keep doing the type of characters he does?

Personally, i think his movies are damn funny. As long as they stay funny (and keeps working with his co writer Adam McKay) then he could do this kind of stuff indefinatly. Besides, he is trying to branch out and do more types of movies. Granted, some of them have been lame (Bewitched?)
but he is trying.

I can see him doing a comedy that doesn't rely on him doing some crazy character like Ricky Bobby. The scripts just have to be good.

I agree, as long as the scripts are good and the stuff is funny, but you have to agree the Ron Burgandy (Anchor Man) and Chazz Michael Michaels (Blades of Glory) are very similar over the top characters, still funny though. I can watch them all day.

Atleast there's someone out there still making us laugh. I dont know though these critics have me thinking too much about this. Maybe thats what critics are meant to do, make you think objectively about diifferent aspects of the movie. Do u guys use movie critics before you check out a movie or do you just go watch it and hope you didnt waste your money ?

You are so right abt that. I am so sick of hearing his name, seeing his face, etc. He is so overused and overblown. Yes, they appear to be the same roles. Different movie titles, same role. Ala Jim Carrey perhaps?
