His name was Robert Hearin and he has since passed away. UM also did a "special alert" on a case very similar to the Annie Laurie Hearin kidnapping about a woman Martha Doe Roberts who was abducted and the kidnappers demanded a ransom.

Yes they did mention that Arnold and Ruby had a child. In the reenactment they had stopped off at one of their parents to pick up the child but since they had been drinking, the parent suggested they leave her there and pick her up the next day.
