They should have keep it the way it was. Also I didn't the REMIX of the opening Theme in the 2nd ep because the FRESH FRECKLED FACE line was Cut out. The pilot was A$$ but the Themes was very very nice

Must have been the syndicater that changed the opening theme. The DVD (which has that episode) has the long version. I believe it had the long version when it aired on E! too.

Or it could be the ION editers doing their magic like they have done with the episodes-lol Going to a commercvial while a character is in a middle of a sentence

The edited opening was definitely not a regular thing on the show. Most episodes use the full thing.

IMO, the regular closing theme is better, with Linda Lavin ad-libbing throughout. It has a really good sound, I think. It sounds so gorgeous at the end, too.

I see that the freckle face line was put back in on the 4th episode

so was the opening theme as well

The S1 episode "Mel's Cup" on In2TV had that shorter opening and the episode is uncut there(running around 25min).
So,this could have been a version that CBS occasionally used,just like ABC did with Three's Company(the shorter S4 opening and S8 opening showed up on one episode in the S4/S8 DVDs).

"and she's lookin' good"...God, that part of the song I CAN'T STAND! The way she sings it is so annoying. She really emphasizes the word GOOD.
