On an episode of Bewitched Darrin & Sam are driving to a dinner party in the rain and they have a flat tire. Darrin had been mad at her about using her powers before, but now he's changed his mind & wants her to use her powers to fix the flat. She doesn't do it, so he ends up getting soaked.

on "Barney Miller" once; it was raining out and the roof was leaking.

There was an episode of "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" once where Roger and Dr. Bellows became marooned at the Nelsons during a hurricane.

once on "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" in order to keep the Clampetts from going back home because Granny missed the snow; Mr. Drysdale pretended there was a big snowstorm in Beverly Hills.

I remember those eps of Bewitched and Barney Miller very well. I also loved the ep of Mary Tyler Moore where the gang was snowed in at WJM on election night and no one was able to get the results!! There was also a great Christmas ep of the Bob Newhart Show where Bob gets snowed in at the office and can't get home to Emily for their private Christmas Eve together. Jerry (dressed as Santa) and two of the other doctors start singing "Good King Wenceslas" in 3 part harmony!!

not BEWITCHED; I said I DREAM OF JEANNIE! (trivia: that episode was supposed to be the last one; but it's a long story as to why it wasn't!:) )

I remember that episode of THE BOB NEWHART SHOW. The electricity went off in Bobs office building; and he ended up walking all the way home.

I remember the closing of the episode, instead of the usual one where they show scenes from it while the theme's playing, they just showed Bob and Emily asleep on the couch with her head on his shoulder, with no music or anything playing.

Actually, I was referring to both your post and Ann's; she's the one who mentioned Bewitched.

You're right about the Bob Newhart ep. The credits ran as one big long crawl, in silence, Bob and Emily sleeping on the couch with her head on his shoulder. Very touching and sweet indeed. :)

Did Gilligan's Island have weather issues?

They had several storms on Gilligans Island. The first storm caused the shipwreck, and another storm washed a telephone cable onto the beach. Then another storm destroyed a cave they had all been in just moments before. There are probably more that I can't think of at the moment.:)

Charles In Charge- During a snow storm Stan and Jill were stuck in the theather while Charles and the children were stuck in the house with no working heat.

Who's the boss?- A snow storm had school canceled for Sam & Jonathan the whole family sat around the fire telling about their early lives. Also during another snow storm angela and her BF Jeffrey were going to go to Maine but had to turn back and ended up staying at the same hotel as Tony and his date. As a matter of fact they end up being next door.

On Wings, a hurricane-type storm went through Nantucket. The power went out at the airport. A funny scene is when Lowell walks in the airport and asks Roy, "Is the power still out?" and Roy says "No, it's Thomas Edison's birthday and we decided to give all the lightbulbs the day off".

Another episode is when Joe, Brian, Lowell & Roy go to South Carolina for the weekend to play golf and Tropical Storm Dwayne was going through there the whole weekend.

On Friends, when they all went to Barbados, it rained alot there, so they were all stuck in the hotel.

On King of Queens, on an episode called "Frozen Pop", Arthur was allowed to sleep in the upstairs spare room for a few days because the basement was freezing from the cold snap.

It was raining in The Waltons during the funeral for Elizabeth's pet racoon in the episode "The Boy from the C.C.C." Also, it was raining when Olivia left to go to a sanatorium in Arizona when she was diagnosed with tuberculosis. That episode was called "The Parting." And, in "It's Whether You Win or Lose" from Mary Tyler Moore, Lou couldn't go to his Las Vegas trip because it was snowing.

a couple times, "DALLAS" had an episode where a hurricane struck. The first time was in an early episode, before they made it continuas. And the second time was years later, during J.R. and Calleys wedding.

There was also the Christmas episode of The Golden Girls where the Girls couldn't get home for the holidays due to a storm or something (maybe it was fog?). They end up spending Christmas Eve in a little diner, and they realize they ARE with family already. And then it starts to snow in Miami!

treky

on C.S.I.: MIAMI once, Miami was struck by a tsunami. And once on C.S.I. a cloudburst broke out just as Gil and the others were investigating a crime scene, and it ruined some of the evidence.

Weather played a big part of several Barney Miller episodes. Check out these titles: "Rain", "Snow Job", "Blizzard", "Fog", "Heat Wave", etc.

In Bewitched Season 3 ("Three Wishes"), a freak snowstorm stranded Darrin in Boston, who was there on business. At home in Connecticut, Sam told Darrin via telephone, "It's so warm and balmy we were going to eat dinner on the patio." We never learn for sure whether the snowstorm occured naturally or if Endora caused it. I think we can all assume Endora was behind it. ;-)

There were quite a few severe snowstorms on Little House on the Prairie ("Blizzard", "A Christmas They Never Forgot", etc.).

Speaking of LHOP, there was an eighth season episode entitled "Days of Sunshine, Days of Shadow". Laura and Almanzo lose their wheat crop due to a hailstorm, and later their house to a twister. Melissa Gilbert and Dean Butler turned in excellent performances; possibly their best work ever in the series.

^ That was indeed a funny episode of Bewitched...it aired in Season 1. I love the first season Benson episode "Snowbound" when the gang ends up stranded in Gov. Gatling's cabin during a severe snowstorm. Benson, Gov. Gatling, Taylor, and Marcy all trip over the bearskin rug - hilarious!!
