When watching ION for the First Time yesterday I noticed that once a TV show ends, the one that follows starts immediately as soon the closing credits is finished-lol I was like "Damm ION needs to spread that out about 5 seconds and add a Station Idenfication between Shows. I never seen that before. As soon as Alice end, The opening Credits for Mama's Family started immediately like it was on a VCR tape

I like it that way. I guess you don't because you are recording them.

ION is technically a broadcast channel, so they are doing the same thing the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) do, having a seamless transition into the next show.

i took notice of that too tonight when I was taping Alice. I wasn't expecting it to come on so fast that I didn't get the very beginning of the credits.

Now you know that you have to hit record during the closing credits of amen so that you can get the full Opening of Alice.

I think TBS has started during that. They'll run the credits of the show that's going off at the bottom of the screen, while playing the next show at the top.

Yes! That is horrible! And TNT does it during their evening shows.

TBS used to do that with the closing credits of the early evening shows, now they do it during the day as well. I noticed this during the Steve Harvey Show. It's hideous and tacky. At least Ion doesn't do THAT.

I notice this especially during Mama's Family. I agree; it's incredibly annoying.

I believe the reason that occurs is because of the fact that commercials are shown during the programming, especially one close to the end of the programming. Back in the days, when a show finished, they went to a commercial or two then started the show, but back then, there weren't as many interruptions as there are now.

I like the way they go immediately into the next show. The less commercials the better!:D

It is sure different now than it was say 20 years ago, Now jammed credits, fast credits, talking over credits. If I didn't have a vcr or a recordable device I wouldn't watch much tv. Commericals are long, fooilish tiring. I rarely watch a show live. And to pay 50.oo a month and I see maybe 6 shows a week.

I also think it's wrong to not squeeze the credits of "Amen" and "Alice," but to squeeze the credits of "Mama's Family," "Diagnosis Murder," and "The Wonder Years." They air the same promos over and over again throughout their shows, so why is it really necessary to do a split-screen over the closing credits?

I was going to say because Alice is new but Amen I think has been on ION for a while

I think in primetime (8-11p) they only do that. So, if it airs before that (Moral Court, Amen, Alice) it is fine.

yes and ION is the second name change for the station since they drop the pax name before it was ION Television it was I network after they changed the name from Pax.

When I read this persons post, this is exactly what I was going to say, LOL....I hate that after the credits, they stay for about a minute, and then break. And NOT come back in that interrupted scene. I noticed this during The Wonder Years. I'm glad its on tv again, and will try to get every episode, but this just sucks!

I can't stand this either! The closing credits for The Wonder Years are horrible. Its not even a split screen like N@N does, its worse!.....They air those same old promos, literally on top of the credits. You can't read a single word. I hate it. I figure I might stop my recordings after the Turner logo for now on.

I think this question should also be asked to the people at GSN.

I'm glad that during Alice on Ion there aren't any speedups though. I noticed they did this during Growing Pains. Like during the episode where Carol's boyfriend Sandy died, it was hard to take Carol's emotional reaction seriously considering that at times it was playing faster than what it should have been.

TNT used to jump right from the end of one Law and Order to the start of the next one, and sometimes my DVR would get totally confused as to which show it was recording and cut something off. It's really bad with shows that are shown back to back, especially if the ending ends up on another episode's beginning.
I've seen it with L & O: CI as well.

Well I was prepared last night, I made sure while I was out that I set my VCR to start recording at 7:27pm so that I could get the full opening of Alice that starts at 7:30pm. Even setting it for 7:29pm was cutting it too close-lol

What I don't like is that they start the show and it is on for like 2 or 3 minutes and then there are commercials and they are the same commercials over and over again. I just started watching The Wonder Years on there and I don't like that they are doing that. Why can't they use the whole screen for the credits and then have commercials and then start the next one.
