Well, it seems to me that Jack was only going to "hit and run" with Arabella anyways, so it was no big loss to him. He liked Bernice. I would rather spend my time with someone who made me laugh, was fun to talk to and if I seen someone like Arabella show their true colors and treat someone so shabbily, I wouldn't want to waste my precious time with them.

That's why Jack said "Friends" to Bernice and she responded the same with "Friends"...they knew it was nothing more.

Well, it took one act of rudeness for Jack to dump her. Remember like that chick that called you with her number blocked? Same thing. It took one act of stupidity to make you realize she wasn't worth it.

I need to add my two cents to this...I have seen this episode many of times, and Arabella was not girlfriend, material; sure she was attractive, but in an arrogant, SKANKY way (a dime a dozen in the LA area). I think the only reason why Jack was interested in her in the first place, because she looked like an easy piece; she was not classy, while Bernice was not attractive and maybe a little on the insecure side, at least, she was someone whom loved Jack for Jack. Arabella was only interested in one thing, while Bernice wanted the whol deal (if you know what I mean).
Exactly. Like I said, Arabella was a "hit and run"...she would give it up to Jack in a minute, just like every other guy she may have been with. :lol: Jack knew this, he wasn't dumb.

By the way Bernice was acted like a OVERWEIGHT TEEN instead of a woman in her mid 30's in that episode

What I've always liked about this episode, and especially how Jack handled Arabella and supported Bernice, is that it demonstrated what a kind, ethical guy Jack Tripper was at heart. Jack liked pretty girls (don't most guys?), but more important to him than that was doing the right thing. He saw this attractive, but mean-spirited young woman being cruel to a less attractive young woman, and Jack recognized that this was unacceptable to him. He did the right thing that any decent man would do: he threw the cruel girl out.

And that's Jack's character: we see it in the way he supports his roommates and friends; Jack was a terrific guy.
