I just recently bought "My Girl" on DVD and fell in love with it. The first time I watched it, was when it was new and it was so sad, that I couldn't stand the thought of watching it again. But now, I'm 25 and I felt nostalgic for it, and it was at Kroger (where I work). A couple days ago, I got "My Girl 2" in the mail. It's not as "classic" as the first film, but I really like it.
I wanted your opinions of both or either film. I don't know what the rule is about spoilers for a movie that was released in 1991, but I went ahead and put "Spoilers" in the thread title, just in case.
I don't like the 2nd movie more than the first, however, I find it's easier to watch it over and over again, because it doesn't have a sad ending like the first one did. Like I say, the first one's a GREAT film and better than the 2nd, but the 2nd is just easier to watch over again.
As long as they're making sequels to older films such as Rocky, Rambo and Indiana Jones, they might as well make a My Girl 3. I'd love to see Anna Chlumsky playing a 26 year old Vada. These are the kind of movies that I care about the characters so much, that I wish they made a sequel every other year, just to keep us updated on the characters.
