On 24th September 1997, in Hopkington, Rhode Island, Greg Siner was cleaning out a kennel when he began to notice a foul smell. He thought it may be the septic tank so he went to investigate. He opened the septic tank and found a human skull inside.
The skull was found to belond to Camilla Lyman (not sure about the spelling), a woman who owned the kennel and had disappeared 10 years earlier.
Camilla started showing bizarre behaviour after the late 1970's. She started ordering animal steroids and began taking them herself. Eventually, her voice became deeper, she started growing facial hair and began wearing mens clothes. By the mid 1980's, she was dressing as a man.
Camilla befriended a man named George O'Neal. O'Neal soon became her only contact and handled all her affairs. In December 1987, Camilla's friends became concerned when they hadn't heard from Camilla. After Camilla's friends contacted official, they discovered that O'Neal was Camilla's sole beneficiary, and was set to inherit everything.
O'Neal claims he last spoke to Camilla in July 1987 when they had an argument over the phone. The next day, he went to see Camilla. When he got to her house, she wasn't there and her phone had been ripped off the wall and the kennel in disaray. O'Neal believed Camilla went to Europe to have a sex change operation.
O'Neal kept on depositing Camilla's cheques despite Camilla having been missing for over a year. He then began to label Camilla's award winning spaniel as his own. Over time, Camilla's net worth had simply disappeared.
In 1994, Camilla was declared legally dead.
I believe George O'Neal did it for obvious reasons but at the same time, am suspicious of Greg Siner (the guy who found the skull). One thing I don't understand is how her body was in the septic tank for almost 10 years and nobody noticed it. How long had Greg Siner been working at the kennel before he found the dead body. He was obviously familiar with the septic tank if he know how to work it. Why didn't he find the skull sooner?
