I just picked up season three of "Family Affair" tonight. I can't begin to express how pleased I am that this show is being released on DVD. I remember watching for this series, hoping it would be among the shows to come out once TV on DVD really took off. Now, thankfully, it looks like all five seasons will be released.
I watched this show as a child in its original and early syndication run. We (my four other brothers) called it simply "Buffy and Jody":
"Hurry, Buffy and Jody are on!"
Now, some thirty plus years later, watching this show warms my soul. Not so much from a nostalgic point of view, but because it seems so pure. It's all about love. There's not one time during the course of an early episode that I'm not brought to the brink of tears. Brian Keith played the roll of Bill Davis perfectly .. and Sebastion Cabot as Mr. French: perfection.
Thank you, Don Fedderson, for bringing this treasure to all of us who enjoyed your show then, and who continue to enjoy it now.
