In all fairness, most Season 1 releases of any show typically outsell later seasons of other shows, no matter how popular. The true test would be to compare both Season 1 releases.

It's probably because Maude is more rare to acquire than The Jeffersons and All in the Family. After all, All in the Family (at least in my area) is on two TV networks running all the time, as well as the Jeffersons. Maude doesn't really do as well in syndication, so it's demand to be watched by fans will prompt them to buy the DVD and experience it. This then translates into sales.

The rarer the show is, the more people will, on impulse, be willing to buy it. That's what happened with me and the show "Family."

I agree wholeheartedly Solomon, as I stated in this post:

I also should've added that another "true" test would be to see if Maude sells well enough to merit her entire series to be released (which I'm hoping for actually). But I agree nevertheless.

That's because it was the first season release going up against a 6th season release. What we should try comparing are the rankings for both shows with their first season releases.

That is all I am really looking for. I got a little bored with the show after Esther Rolle left to do "Good Times". If the other seasons are released, I would still buy them.

I couldn't stomach that DRUNKEN maid-"Mrs. Nagutack"-lol The 3rd Maid on Maude reminded me of Willona from Good Times,

I just prefer the first two seasons.
