Hello Everybody-
I am a new poster in this message board. So let me tell you a little bit about myself and my first exposure to Bill Bixby.
I am 16 years old and a Junior in Highschool. Since I was born in 1984 I was not around during the first runs of Bill Bixby's shows. I remember though in 1989 I watched a show called The Incredible Hulk. I was scared to death when Bill Bixby would transform into the hulk. I would turn my eyes away everytime the "transformation" would occur. They took the reruns of the show off then and I forgot about the show.
Then during the last couple of months of my Sophmore year in highschool I was absent from school and saw a show on Sci-Fi called The Incredible Hulk. I said to myself, if this is the show that I am thinking of... So I watched the show and fell in love with the show again. I got out my tapes and started to record the show. Everyday after school I would come home and watch what I had recorded and it was the highlight to my day.
During the summer after my Sophmore year I watched another show that had Bill Bixby in it. The show was called My Favorite Martian. I fell in love with that show too. So I would record My Favorite Martian on TV Land and then record The Incredible Hulk on Sci-Fi. Then I watched another show with Bill Bixby in it called The Courtship of Eddie's Father and fell in love with that show also. The relationship that was between the characters of Tom and Eddie Corbett was just like Andy and Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show.
As probably the Hulk fans that get the channel Sci-Fi know that the Hulk hasn't been on like it had been on. They are only showing the 6 hour marathons every once in a while. I have only gotten about 37 episodes on tape. So I really wish that Sci-Fi would air the hulk again everyday. Proudly I must say that I have gotten every episode of My Favorite Martian except 2 and working on duplicating the episodes and I am still recording The Courtship of Eddie's Father on Turner South.
I may be 16 but I love all the classic shows from the 1960's and 1970's. My favorites shows include My Favorite Martian, The Courtship of Eddie's Father, The Incredible Hulk, The Andy Griffith Show, All In The Family, Sanford and Son, and Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.
I know my message is already long so let me just say that Bill Bixby is one of the best actors of our time. He will live forever in our hearts. Notation from the episode of the hulk "Married" at the end the little boy on the beach says to David that a person will always stay with us as long as somebody remembers them. As many fans that Bill Bixby has then I'll just say as long as new fans watch Bill Bixby he will live forever in our hearts.
Sincerely yours,
Jenny : )
