Now the Daughter just RODE OFF on a motorcycle with the Guy after being told she was grounded-LOL
Their relationship seems more like sisters, than parent-child. They are fun to
watch though.

I agree, Susan seems like a big sister more than a mother. Probably because Susan has been through so much in her life, that she really hasn't had time for her daughter, she kinda just looked after herself..

Sometimes Julie seems to have more authority than Susan, kind of like she's the mom instead of the daughter, don't you think?

There have been a lot of references to Julie being a parent to Susan throughout her life, such as when Susan and Karl divorced. When Susan burned down Edie's house, it was Julie who she had sneak in the dogdoor and steal back the burned cup that Mrs. Huber was using to blackmail her. She took Julie along to stalk Mike when she was following him to see where he was going. It's part of her charm, but it isn't exactly a normal mother/daughter relationship. It makes sense that Julie would jump into the role where she feels she has some sort of authority over what is said to Susan.
