I figured the show could've moved on to seasons 7 and 8 easily. Why did it end after season 6?

The Show ended because Vicki Lawrance didn't want to see Joe Hamilton suffer any more, Joe had cancer of the neck and head. Joe incase you didn't know was the excutive producer of the show.

Joe Hamilton who was married to Carol Burnett(spelling) at one time then divorced.

Joe Hamilton according to Vicki Lawrance said Joe smoked like a train, he was a chain smoker.

Joe Had gotten cancer and had a tumor removed from his forehead, and instead of keeping it wrapped up properly Joe used to keep paper towels over it according to Vicki and the towels kept falling off, and yes Joe continued to smoke.

So Vicki said to Joe this is our last year. Then in June 12, 1991 he died at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 62, of cancer of the neck and head due to chain smoking.

Vicking didn't want anyone else producing the show because she was loyal to Joe that much. That is why the show ended

Vicky was also tiring of being in the costume and not being able to be her younger, prettier self and be herself on the screen. Like Betty White said, it was hard to see her go, but understandable.

That makes sense because she did Win, Lose, or Draw! right after that and then her talk show. Mama went into the closet pretty much until the 2 Woman Show which started back in 2002. I wonder if she will be stopping that show anytime soon. Her schedule has slowed down a bit. I would love to see her just one more time, lol.

Seeing Naomi as a new mother would have been hilarious! Imagine Mama constantly correcting her and giving her "advice".

Yes, and I bet it would be a constant fight over that little girl's name. Tiffany or Thelma. :)

True dedication, kudos to Vicki Lawrence. I can only imagine the changes a new producer would try to make to ruin the show. It has happened too many times when a show tries to reformat itself for the new decade. Its always good to have enough episodes to live on in syndication and at least it was not a cliffhanger.
