Happy Weekend, my friends! So what's everyone up to? Today's going to be warm and sunny....big difference from last weekend's snowstorm. My stepson and his family are visiting today for pizza and munchies. I'm thinking about putting up my Easter decorations, and I've got my fingers crossed for a movie from Netflix. Such an exciting life, lol.

Hey, everyone

Today will be pretty standard for a Saturday--I usually spend my day working 2:30-10. I am also waiting on a Netflix dvd, but I probably won't get to watch it 'til tomorrow night or Monday.

Tonight I'm sleeping over my Mom's house :woohoo: I can't wait to go...I really miss her :crying:

Good morning, it is 11:15am EST and I am still exhausted. It is a beautiful day, but I don't feel like doing anything.

I have to do my laundry today, for sure. That's all I've got for solid plans so far. That, plus avoiding my mom (long story) and MAAAAAAAYBE go out for coffee with a friend. I don't know about the last one, though.

Looks like another lazy weekend for you friendly neighborhood TJL folks.
The Gaf was pretty dead last night, so working the door wasn't too hard.
My roommate and his girlfrind just took off for some birthday party in New Jersey, so they'll be gone for the day which means I have the place to myself. I just saw on the program guide that HBO2 is going to be showing Star Wars Episodes 1-3 starting at 12:30 this afternoon, so I guess I'm not going anywhere.
Still have the movie thing with my lady friend tomorrow, so i will let you know how that goes. I think she's stopping by the Gaf tonight.

God morgon, allihopa! That means "good morning, everyone" in Swedish, for your info. ;)

It's now 9:41 a.m., and I just kinda feel bla this morning. I have so much to do to tidy up around here, but I seem to have NO motivation everytime I am home. It's only when I am not home when I am fully motivated. Ack. I need to get outta this slump. :(

I also must get laundry done this weekend. I have run low on "whites." I enter work in a little less than three hours, but I have been feeling lazy in working during the last past Saturdays. *mumbles under her breath*

Oh, yeah, and I do believe I have NOT even logged into SO all day yesterday. It was such a lonnnnng and full day yesterday. I was lurking around yesterday night online, but I just totally forgot about checking SO. Oh, wow... How silly....

We are goig to see Zodiac, at her request.

I think a fact based account of a serial killer is a better movie to see on a first date than a blood soaked gladiator flick, don't you?

Taking it easy right now, but I work tonight. I go on shift at 17:30 and tonight we'll be conducting another seatbelt checkpoint. It's 75 outside right now, but it'll cool down by the time we start the checkpoint.

Update:

Just got a text from the guys down at the Gaf, they won't need my doorman services tonight. Which means that it's either really dead, or they have three guys behind the bar.

No biggie, I'll probably go down there anyway - perhaps my ladyfriend will be there.

Should i text her to let her know I'm not going to be working, or wait it out?

Well, my day sure sucked!!! Started it off by getting pee'd on, and pooped on again watching my neighbors dog. Then I went to the coffee shop with my mom, and we got into a pretty bad car accident. Fortunately, everyone's okay, just shaken up. Then I come home to find a bunch of vulgar pm's directed towards me at my myspace, as someone has apparantely hacked into my site, and is sending spam comments to all of my friends. Not a very good day to say the least. Hope things don't get any worse tonight!!!

I'm sorry you were in a car accident Brad. That's good that no one was hurt.

Thanks Jen!! :) Yeah, it could have been alot worse. The damage to the car is pretty extensive, but there was no human damage, and that's what matters most.

It's been a pretty wild night - I had to guard a dead body for over an hour while waiting for the M.E. to get there. Poor guy was only 44 years old and his neighbor found him dead. All the people from the neighboring apartments were being nosy as hell. Later on, a drunk drove his car right through the state capitol complex and was basically a one-man wrecking crew. We have one of the nicest war memorials in the country at our state capitol and he tore it all up with his '87 Buick lol When we finally caught up to him, he told us he was seeing demons and I told him he'll probably be seeing prison bars next lol Good news - I get off in an hour, woohoo! Let's do it all over again this evening lol

Finally had time to post. I had quite a weekend. Hung out with my bro and a friend. What we did: Played a couple games of basketball, ate at a restaurant, went to the mall, I bought rocky balboa on dvd, and we just chilled at starbucks drinking white chocolate mocha frap's. Since its like 3:18am today we are having wood floors put in the family room.

Nothing on the agenda today which is my favorite kind of day. I may run a couple of errands. I like to make a killing at CVS on Sundays, using coupons with the sale items in their Sunday flyer. Sometimes, I can spend...say $40 and walk out with $80 worth of merchandise. It's almost like a holdup, lol.

It's go time!

I have two tickets to see "Zodiac" at 3:15 this afternoon with my ladyfriend. We're going to see the movie at the Ziegfeld theater on 54th Street, which is probably one of the only old school single screen movie theaters left in manhattan. It's been there forever, and it has that great movie palace look, plus the theater is huge, it can hold probably over a thousand people, which is why 99% of all big NYC movie premieres are held there.

Aside from the kickass theater, I am looking forward to spending the day with this girl. I was lucky enough to hang out with her last night at the Gaf, so we got a chance to talk and get drunk. Don't worry, i didn't do anything foolish. We pros know how to keep things in check despite our booze consumption.

We'll probably grab something to eat after the show, maybe have a drink somewhere, not too sure yet. It probably won't be a late night since......

Drumroll please....

I have to go back to work tomorrow!

:(

We finally have some stuff lined up that will keep us busy for a while, so it looks like I have a full week ahead of me.

But I can't think about that now. I have a big day ahead of me.

Wish me luck.

;)

Fisrt off, "Zodiac" is a great film. An amazing true crime thriller that is genuinly scary and gripping. Kudos to everyone involved in the ensemble cast and director David Fincher.

Now onto other things:

The date went very well. We had a chance to chat before the movie, and she is a very nice witty woman. After the movie we had a quick drink at a bar next to the theater. We were both very tired from the night before (as i mentioned in my last post she was out at the Gaf with her girlfriend last night, and she stayed at her frind's place in Manhattan (she lives in Brooklyn) last night. There will be another date soon.

i will get a chance to see her Wednesday night. Her birthday is Wednesday and she's going to stop by the Gaf with work friends for a few celebratory cocktails.

All in all, things are good. I am very pleased.

Thanks for all the kind wishes. I will keep you posted on how things go.

Glad to hear the first date went well. It's nice the two of you have been getting to know one another beforehand, so the pressure was off. So her birthday is Wednesday. Boy, did you luck out, lol. Too soon for her to expect a gift. You're off the hook! Just buy her a birthday drink.

You know, i was thinking of giving her one of my pendants - she is familair with my work since I'm always wearing one of my Gaf pins when I'm at the bar - and I have an Aires pendant from the zodiac pendants I made a few months ago...

Think I should give it to her? Is it too soon?

I think it's a nice idea as long as you keep it simple. I wouldn't present it a gift, per say...just sort of giving her a little something. I wouldn't wrap it. What do I know though?

Oh you know plenty of stuff Janice. Your advice is always on the money.

I agree that I shouldn't make it a big deal. No wrapping, no box, etc. Keep it simple.

Besides, my live-in gift wrapper is fresh out of tiny gift boxes.
