It really pains me to say this, but in recent years Mary Tyler Moore has looked VERY scary. She has had too much plastic surgery, and it does nothing for her. The Rolling Stones are pretty scary looking too, even when they were younger.

I always thought John Lennon was the best-looking of the Beatles, but he frightened me when he grew his hair and beard long, with the glasses. I don't really know why. :confused: He looked better clean shaven, at least to me.

Although this does not apply to me now, when I was in grade school in the early 1980s fitness guru Richard Simmons had this exercise show, and he, for some odd reason, used to freak me out! I vividly remember one time my teacher was watching it on break, and I rushed to the TV and turned it off! I wonder if his exercise outfits caused the craze of men wearing short shorts in the mid-1980s which made me think the 1980s had the worst fashions in an older thread.

The next time I saw Mr. Simmons was on the "Late Show with David Letterman" in the mid-1990s (back when Mr. Letterman was good, but I digress). One skit stands out, Dave promising him a statue of Barbra Streisand, but it was another woman (a good description would be Mary Ann Spencer on "Perfect Strangers"), and Richard went ape!!! If nothing did earlier, that changed my perspective of Mr. Simmons, and now I think he is one of the funniest men out there! (Then again, he looks a lot like Larry Appleton from "Perfect Strangers"!)

I've seen some good candidates listed here. Michael Jackson is def. the winner hands down! But I'm surprised no one's mentioned Tammy Fay Bakker. All that make-up! *Shudders* For some reason, she's always freaked me out!
