Do you think DS could have had more than 8 seasons and better episodes if Dana hadn't got kicked off?

She did appear in guest spots/recurring during the last two seasons, but I think that it was losing its flavor anyway. Then again, that is just my opinion.

I don't think that would have mattered, because not many episodes revolved around her anyway. Even though they had gotten older, they still should have kept the Arnold-Willis format instead of the Arnold-Sam flavor. That would have made a difference.

I think Diff'rent Strokes could have gone for 12 Season

Maybe it could have been an Arnold-Willis-Sam format. That way it would have focused on all 3 brothers.

This may be blasphemy here, but I think eight seasons was too many. At the very least it's not as if some huge opportunity was missed by not letting it go on longer. Many would say it was time to put the show out of its misery.

It was losing too much steam. Dana couldn't save it herself.

But it didn't outlived its spin off, Facts of Life, which ran longer than Diff'rent Strokes.
