View Full Version : Things you enjoy doing that are kind of embarrassing??
Brad Russ 03-19-2007, 07:29 PM One thing I absolutely love to do, which is kind of embarrassing in this judmental world we live in today, is to clean, and make things look nice. I've had my current room for a little over a year now, and I've probably rearranged the whole room about three times already. I'm always trying to think of new ways to make things look different, and nice. Plus, it's a really satisfying feeling when you complete it, and you look around at the finished project, and know that you did it all by yourself yourself. I get a similar feeling when I build something, but that's not embarrassing, since guys are "suppose" to enjoy building. Anyway, what are things you enjoy doing that may be a little embarrassing to talk about, or something that the world looks at as something that a guy, or girl shouldn't enjoy doing??
I enjoy playing with my nephew's action figures. We get down on the floor
and have wars. My husband thinks I'm silly, that I'm too old to play with
toys. But me & my nephew have a blast. I use to do this with my son too, but
he out grew it.
swedeace 03-19-2007, 08:08 PM I still enjoy watching pre-teen/teen shows. I don't watch ALL of them, but I think most of them are pretty damn entertaining. I guess it's the music or the plots or the storylines, but I never seem to outgrow those. I find they are just interesting.
tdf4077 03-19-2007, 08:35 PM When I drive in to work, I BLAST either Abba, Barry Manilow, or Broadway music and sing along. My co-workers continually comment on my, errrr....talents lol!
Janice 03-19-2007, 09:02 PM I don't really tell people in my actual life about my online life. Nobody knows about this site. I have other reasons for that, mainly that I don't like certain people knowing my business or whereabouts. My husband knows everything, and I told him I'd kill him if he tells anyone.
I'm also known to dance to disco when I'm home alone. Sometimes I pick up the cat and dance with him, lol.

That very freakishly sounds like me...
Wow, i'd never thought that I would admit this, but okay, here goes...
Sometimes when I'm bored I go over to Janice's house and dance with her cat.

haha OMG...I always play the most random songs that most people would think I'm insane for listening to, including show tunes and just sing away...like I can even sing. I can't help it. Oh well.

I suppose for someone my age, listening to 60s and 70s music is pretty lame, but I think today's music sucks.
Bobby F. 03-19-2007, 11:40 PM I'm also known to dance to disco when I'm home alone. Sometimes I pick up the cat and dance with him, lol.

Brad Russ 03-20-2007, 05:02 PM Around Christmas time, I enjoy taping various Christmas commercials.
That's cool!! I don't do that, but every Christmas I do pop in my Christmas tape that was made for me by my dad in 1988, and watch it from beginning to end. Frosty The Snowman, Twas The Night Before Christmas, A Mouse, A Mystery, And Me, Tis The Season To Be Smurfy, Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and of course, A Muppet Christmas Carol. Yeah, I may be a little old for it, but it just doesn't seem like Christmas unless I watch that tape!! :)

LuLu Rogers 03-20-2007, 08:24 PM I only do this when I'm by myself, I'm very shy about it, lol. :)
I watch the same romantic scenes in certain movies over and over again (especially if Jack Nicholson is in them).
Michael [hXc] 03-20-2007, 09:07 PM I watch television shows that are generally thought of as girl shows, Hannah Montana for example. and I haven't missed a single episode of Zoey 101, since it first aired. and I am a huge fan. :D

You know, I do the same thing with Anjelica Huston movies. But the scenes I watch over and over aren't necessarily romantic...just scenes I like or find interesting.
Um, I also like to sing VERY loudly when I'm driving alone.

Funny you should say that Brad, because I made a similar tape of specials for my kids a few years ago. They watch it every year. :santa:

That's awesome!! I think every parent should make tapes like this for their children. Some of my best memories from childhood, come from homeade tapes that my parents made for me, and I absolutely cherish those tapes today, especially since my dad and I aren't in much contact these days. Small things like this, can really leave a lifetime of memories for your children!!
Brad Russ 03-22-2007, 10:44 PM I also enjoy watching sad movies and tv shows, that make me cry. I try to hold the tears in when I'm watching with other people, but I always let loose when I'm alone. Just one of my many guilty pleasures.

Yeah, I like watching depressing stuff. Puts me in a depressing mood, but I think I'm just comfy there.

For some reason, stuff like that usually makes me feel better. I think it's just a comfort for me to know that other people go through tough stuff too, and that I'm not alone.

Yeah, same here. And I'll also admit that I watch the Disney Channel more than is prob. appropriate for a 24-year-old. LOL I've actually seen most, if not all, the episodes of Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana. *Hangs head in shame* They're cute shows, OK?!

 I'll ALWAYS love DuckTales, too. :) Watched it when it debuted in '87, and I still adore it to this day 20 years later. I've got both volumes on DVD... I'm waiting for the last one! Woohoo!
catlover79 03-23-2007, 05:08 PM I am such a geek...since 1996, I tape all of Jay Leno's monologues and headlines. I still have many of them and watch them still! My family is used to it, but people who find that out about me think I'm a bit, well,.

Yeah, I mentioned the Disney Channel shows above as well. ;)
Even if I have tried to watch "Hannah Montana," "Sadie" and "Life With Derek," they don't hold my interest as high as "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "That's so Raven," "Phil of the Future," and "Lizzie McGuire." Ahhhh... such interesting and cute shows with fun storylines. :D

Haha, ditto. :) And, really, DuckTales is something we both grew up with. Me, I know that for sure. lol
I still have my Scrooge McDuck plush that I got in 1988. That's one thing I am NEVER getting rid of. EVER. He sits on my dresser today, and I love looking over at the dresser and seeing him there. :)
