Larry should've laughed at Phillip's dumb ass. The entire episode was corny with a capital C!!!

I think an improvement to that episode would be a scene where Jack and Larry beat the crap out of Phil infront of the wedding guests, LOL

Out of all the men in Southern California, Janet could have found somebody who wasn't a dumbass.

To me the only stupid thing was does Janet honestly look like the type of person that would cheat on someone??? I think it just proves how insecure Phillip was. I mean after going out with someone after only a month and you get married, don't count on it being a big success. I think it would have been funny if Janet kissed Larry again just to **** him off!!!:happyface

I always felt it was such a diservice to Janet to end up with someone like Phillip--so boring...

I know I posted on this thread but I must say he mild compared to the episode that introduced him. He said over and over again "I know this great little place..." like three times!!! I'm sorry but I watched the episode last night and all I could think was "I wonder if he had enough oxygen at birth?" I don't blame the actor that played him, I blame the g.d producers!!! I wonder if Dave (Phil) ever watched those episodes again and thought "What the f*&k was I thinking". Also Phil and Janet had to have the most uncomfortable marriage/ relationship in the history of national television!!! I honestly think Joyce didn't like Dave very much and vice versa.

I would have preferred Jack and Janet pairing up instead of adding new characters.

In my opinion, I think the relationships between Jack and Vicky and Janet and Phillip were a bit rushed. It was almost the end of the 8th season before we even saw the characters of Vicky and Phillip. I don't like the way things ended. I like the idea of Jack and Janet though. ;)

I agree, I think Phillip and Vicky should have been introduced in the 6th or
7th season. It would be plenty of time for the writers to try to develop the characters and for viewers to get to know them.

Dayum writers and their lack of consistency.....

In the 5th season episode In Like Larry, Janet and Larry do kiss (in order to make Jack think the girls were having a great time with Larry as a houseguest).

I agree,i remember watching the last show when it 1st aired in 84 and felt the show was dissapointing.they knew ahead of time they were going off and should have built the the 2nd half of the season towards a finale,by that i mean with all of the charcters including larry and Mr. Furly, maybe having furly meet someone or Larry goin off to do something involving women or actually meeting some1 himself

Yes, I hated how they introduced Phillip and Vicky like at the very last minute (Vicky in the last show before Friends and Lovers (the series finale), and Phillip just in the show before that); it just seemed so rushed and forced.

Janet might have fallen for Phillip in part because he was rich (he inherited a lot of money in The Heiress, and he might have had a fortune himself before then too) but it still felt forced.

Also the wedding itself was the very epitome of corny-ness, I mean they didn't even have Janet's parents there. And I still think they should have brought back some old Three's Company characters in for the finale, just to honor them and give them a final send-off. I can understand Chrissy not being possible (due to the problems with Suzanne) but Cindy could have made an appearance and same with the Ropers.

And yes Phillip's joke was about as corny as you can get with jokes. I still laughed though. :p

OMG ur totally right they do suck of remembering what they've done.

A writer once said... you can't start a show and don't know where its going and make it as you go along..

i wish i could remember who said that.. anyways there was alot of mess-ups and lack of consistency

I guess they figure that the fans aren't going to notice the inconsistencies and theyll just enjoy the show as whole. Boy, were they wrong.

Meh, inconsistencies or not (I personally think that was rather minor; Larry was just cracking a joke, he probably didn't care about being technically accurate about an event that happened over 3 years ago), Friends and Lovers just sucked. For example, near the end the only thing we know of Terri's fate is a casual blow-off line to Furley saying she was going to Hawaii. I mean, WTF? In fact the whole last 3 episodes of Three's Company's eighth season sucked. They just wanted to get Company out of the way and get into Three's a Crowd, they really didn't care about giving TC a good send-off.
