Would you have let him go camping and save his punishment for later?
What if he didnt' fess up until he came back?
In my family, my brother would have kept his yap shut and let us take the blame until he came home...he was sneaky that way!!!

I would have let him go. When he got home he would have been grounded worse.

I'd say no. He would be spoiled.
Jenjen mentioned going and saving his punishment for later. It makes me cringe on Peter's behalf to think of that; he would have had a heavy feeling his whole trip, which more than likely would have ruined an otherwise happy experience. Of course, said "heavy feeling" could teach him a lesson!

Had Pete gone on the trip, he probably would have moped around all weekend, because of the guilt he felt at letting his brothers and sisters take the heat. His mood could have spoiled it for everyone else who was there.
I think it was the right thing to do to keep him home.

Yes, you're right...good point...
Mike was correct when he said Peter's conscience wouldn't let him go on the trip.

CONFESSIONS CONFESSIONS is one of my favorite episodes, I just watched that one actually the other day on the DVD.
I think it was correct for Peter not to go camping. The part of the episode that doesn't ring true is when all the other kids try to take the blame for breaking the vase so Peter can go on the camping trip. Even Alice tries to fess up. Kids aren't that nice nowadays. Today, they would tell their sibling to suck it up and take the punishment.
Great scene though at the dining room table with the kids all quiet as mice and staring at the glued up vase filled with water and holding the flowers. LOL when the water starts leaking out. The dream sequence with Peter is funny also when he dreams repeatedly the basketball bouncing down the stairs and smacking into the vase. Then at the end of the episode, Carol hands the broken vase to Peter and asks him to re-glue it and do a better job of it this time. She clumsily hands it off to him, of course it breaks again and now it is irrepairable.
