If you have ever wondered about Dick Van Dyke's 1970s series, there are eight episodes available for free viewing online. Go to the link below and click on "download" for any of the episodes. After you have downloaded the episode, there is some software you may need to download in order to watch. And the other catch is that there are a couple brief commercial interruptions, but at least you can see the show! Earlier I watched the episode where Dick's mother accidentally smokes pot. Funny stuff! And kind of bold material for 1973.

I have all the appropriate software that AOL Video says I should have, but I encounter a huge blip after the first commercial when the program is loading. A message comes up saying I need to go to another page to get license authorization, and once I click it, another message comes up saying they're busy, that I should try again, or to contact AOL support. Has anyone else come across this too?
And has anyone heard any news about when "The New Dick Van Dyke Show" might finally appear on DVD?

no, I haven't had any problems getting it to play. It plays perfectly for me. Must be your computer.
I just finished watching the episode where he gets hooked on smoking. That was funny!   I hadn't seen that show inYEARS! I haven't heard anything about a DVD release for the series; but I wish SOMEONE would release it. Does anyone know who has the rights to it, and we could try contacting them?

I am using the AOL video to watch Perfect Strangers (also saw one Rocky and Bullwinkle ep) and it is very tricky to use. I had to dowload Windows Media Player 11, and I've had to reinstall several times. However it works for me now, and it looks pretty good, kind of mini-tv size. (No substitute for the real thing though!)
However if you live outside the US I know it is said not to work due to copyright issues. Unfortunately.:(

I have never seen The New Dick Van Dyke Show. Was that show good as the orginal Dick Van Dyke show?

I actually like TNDVDS better than the original. But then, I also like the works of Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison better than when they were together as the Beatles.

Just to let you all know, two more episodes have been added to this site, so now there are ten. So you may want to keep checking this site as, hopefully, they will continue to add more episodes. And I suppose that if they see people are downloading these shows, they may be encouraged to add more.

I had only seen this Christmas episode before so it was nice to see another. Saw the one where they try to give up smoking.

Just to let you know, 4 new episodes have been added. They also removed two of the episodes that were there before. But at least they added more than they took away. Currently, they have a total of twelve episodes online.
