Who (or what) gives them high ratings? It is because the stars of those shows are still widely recognizable (unlike Growing Pains or A Different World)?

Or is it because they're virtually the ONLY shows they air late at night? GRRrrrrr...

I work nights, and when I'm home with the TV on between 4 and 7 am, I would much rather have other shows to choose from than these two. They're fine shows in they're own right, but N@N has really overkilled the airing.

Well let me give you my reason why It's so easy for me to continue watching Fresh Prince every Night

The show is just so FUN to watch and 98% of the eps are Laugh out Loud moments. No matter how times I watch it I will always laugh. Will plays off Uncle Phil very Well, Carlton plays off Will very Well, and Geoffery plays off Will very Well. Its just a GREAT SHOW. As Matter of Fact, I'm about to turn to it now-lol

Why do these shows still get high ratings after being rerun into the ground as much as they are? It's like asking why is the grass green.

those are my feelings abt ROSEANNE. Gimme a Roseanne marathon anytime. I don't know how many nights I couldn't sleep and good ol' Roseanne was on and it was so pleasant to watch. BUT! not the post-lottery episodes. Gimme the "old" Conners.

As for ratings, it has to do with the fact that these two shows have a great fan base and good following. I can watch I Love Lucy over and over, it has nothing to do with it having been in syndication since FOREVER, if people are fans, they will watch. I hate FPOBA, but there are those who will watch it til the end of time.

I personally can watch Roseanne and Fresh Prince no matter what. Some shows I just can. Others, I can't. Weird.

Three's Company, Mama's Family, Rosanne, Fresh Prince, Golden Girls and I Love Lucy are some of my favorite shows and I can always watch them, no matter what and always enjoy it, no matter how many times I've seen an episode of them (Good Times, too, actually).

But I do agree both shows are badly overplayed, although I never thought Cosby would get a break, but it finally did, so I'm sure Roseanne and FP mania will calm down.

I'm sure once Family Matters and Home Improvement come, they could get the "star" treatment as I see both shows doing really well.

I guess because stupid n@n doesn't really show anything elese or gave any other show a chance.

In All honesty, I would like to know the Appeal of these Two shows myself. Not sure about Roseanne but I can only Guess that because Fres Prince has so many FUN episode Topics is one reason lot of viewers loe the show. Another guess is that young Teenage boys are attracted to Hilary and Ashely and that young Teenage Boys are attracted to Will and Carlton
