.... was that we got to see the actual "SET" for Sanford & Son from the live studio audience's perspective, with all of the cameras and lights that are not seen in other episodes. It would have been cool to see THAT taping of the show in person, because in that ep the audience actually appeared on the show during the audience scenes....

during the Steinberg and Son renegotiations, Fred requested windows, "lots and lots of windows!" This made fun of an alledged real life demand made by Redd Foxx during his contract holdout a year earlier.

I wanted to see how that white woman who played the Esther version see how well she could insult the guy who was the white fred. they wouldn't let her, she forgot her lines.

ever notice all the voice-overs in this one? Maybe the shows producers thought the characters sounded TOO jewish?

In this episode, there is one of THE FUNNIEST dialogs between Fred, Grady, and Esther.......Of course Fred gets the punch line.......
Esther- "Grady, will you see me home?"
Grady- "I've already seen your home, Esther!"
Esther- "I said SEE ME HOME!"
Grady- "but why?"
Esther- "There's all kinda men out there, just waitin' to attack a woman walkin' alone."
Fred- "Yeah Grady, you should go too, then YOU wouldn't have to be afraid..."
Grady- "Why not?"
Fred- "Well when they see you put clothes on a GORILLA, they'll think you're too tough to mess with!"

Was this episode taped before a studio audience? I noticed that beginning in season 4 they stopped having Demond Wilson say at the end that the show was taped live and this show is from season 5. Funny because season 4 is the season that they began to have huge applause when the cast members came on stage for the first time within the episode (annoying when even Bubba and Officer Hopkins and his mother get that huge round of applause when they show up on screen).
