View Full Version : Is it WEIRD for a person not to ever call out sick in 44 years??? LOL TVFactFan 03-13-2007, 02:26 PM My mom just told me that my uncle worked for the post office and he never called out sicked in 44 years-lol Now that's pretty wacky because you don;t get an award for never using a sick day. Janice 03-13-2007, 02:34 PM I don't know if weird's the right word. Lots of places will buy unused sick time back, vacation time too. If that's not the case, then I'd say your uncle shortchanged himself. Even if a person isn't physically sick, most everyone needs a mental health day here and there. I'm surprised that in all those years, he didn't need to take time off for a funeral or a medical crisis for himself or a loved one. Who am I kidding, it's very weird. I hate those people. Infect all of us, why don't you?? Courtnee 03-13-2007, 09:31 PM Nope. My grandfather worked for a plant for 50 years and never took a day off and was never late. TJL 03-13-2007, 09:36 PM I work with a guy who never ever takes a sick day. He never gets sick, or sick enough to take a day off. Of course I do get sick from time to time and use my sick days, which he can't stand. We don't get our sick days back at the end of the year if we don't use them, so why let them go to waste? My mom told me that he never missed a days work other than for a funeral. He had a very low opinion of whiners and bellyachers. *MIBabe03* 03-15-2007, 01:37 PM Sounds like my dad... Lex Luthor 03-15-2007, 03:40 PM I have known several people like that my grandfather for 40 years in corrections and did not take sick days and very few holidays. At the time all sicks days and vacation accumulated (government has since changed its benifits and pension) this allowed him to retire 4 1/2 years early and still had a decent payout for leftover time as well. |
