Yeah, CIs have been around for ages. :) I know a bunch of people with 'em. They're helluva expensive, tho. The evaluation, surgery, device AND rehabilition, if you get CIs in both ears, can cost anywhere from $40,000 to $60,000. And it's not always a guarantee that it'll work.

But I think it's a great thing when someone is able to get a CI or two. It's a very life-changing thing.

That's wonderful for the little boy. It's a whole new world for him. It's terribly sad that his mother died last year though.
