John Inman died on Thursday from complications of Hep A. Many PBS stations are showing special tributes to him. Inman has to be one of the funniest comics ever. He redefined camp. When people think of British comedy, they often think of Are You Being Served, and when they think of Are You Being Served, they think of John Inman and Mollie Sugden. It is surprising that he is the first major character to have died from Grace and Favour (Billy Burton a supporting character died a number of years ago).
I remember flipping through channels a long time ago an discovering Are You Being Served. I could not get enough of the show. It was just so funny.
RIP - Mr.Wilberforce Clayborne Humphries - yes - now you are free.
