I found a web site www.tvaddicts.tv They have the whole PD show on 13 dvds 104 episodes. It sounds to good to be true are these boot legged copies? and a the legal to buy? Sounds like a deal for $99.99. Im really tempted

Don't do it! Their DVDs are bootlegs, of course. There have been numerous reports about people not getting DVDs at all from that site (and the other ones with similiar urls) or getting DVDs poorly put together (no menus, poor quality, time compressed, etc).

I thought they were bootleg. I was looking around some more and they have another web site www.dvdavenue.tv looks like the same site as tv addicts. thanks for the info $100 bucks is a lot to lose if I didn't get the dvds at all:mad: these sites do seem a little shady to me.

Too many people have gotten ripped off from those sites AND about half of them have been closed down already

last airing of the entire series was back in the early 90's so unless someone has the full set of 16mm prints the DVDs would have to be a mix of prints or just old NickatNite video recordings. Id watch em if they were not too horrible
I still have a VCR - :)

I wouldn't be surprised if those DVD's came from my recordings since I traded them a bit years ago.

Yep I have a set of the Nick At Nite episodes too. The episodes are not uncut and the quality isn't very good either. But now I have my own complete series of The Patty Duke Show, uncut episodes which I recently recorded from TV. I taped the episodes on VHS-SP, there are 26 tapes total. I made a set of DVD's from the tapes, the discs turned out great. I left the commercials in so it's the entire 30 minute telecasts, there aren't many commercials anyway since the episodes are uncut. It's a very high quality set, a couple episodes I would like to upgrade and I will tape them if the station airs those episodes. Episode 15- Christmas Present- is one of the eps I want to upgrade and I think it may air soon on Nov. 9th, so I'll be on the lookout for it.

The editing of The Patty Duke Show (as well as other shows on NIN) came in 2 stages.

The first two runs of PD came in at 24 minutes, without commercials most of my recordings come from those 2 runs. But there were a few shows that were excluded from both first couple of runs like Con Artist, Patty The Artist and Poppo's Birthday. I also missed the teaser on the 24 minute showing of "Don't Bank On It" and when it rolled around again in the 22 minute versions the teaser was actually cut (so to this day, I wonder what the teaser of "Don't Bank On It" had).

Yes, after those first 2 runs, they cut the shows down to 22 minutes and those 22 minute versions are the majority of what was shown on Nick At Nite as they showed PD for a few years.

While it is possible that these bootlegs are using my versions (I traded them a lot a few years ago) most bootlegs I heard about have 22 minute shows and are also missing "Three Little Kittens", an episode I have in the 24 minute version.

So, I consider myself fortunate that I got hooked on the show from almost the beginning (before NIN, I never heard of The Patty Duke Show it was before my time) and started taping them before they did the additional editing. 1 minute of cuts are far less damaging then 3.

I have to look at my uncut episode on the DVD, but the opening scene of Don't Bank On It goes basically like this:

Martin walks into the living room and tells Natalie that he has lots of work to do for the office and would like some peace and quiet for a while. Then Patty gets home from school unexpectedly, Martin asks her why and she says the boiler went out so they sent everyone home early. Patty then says she's going to use the spare time to do the fixing up in her room which she's been planning (this will generate some noise so Martin makes a long face.) Then come the opening credits.

Another episode from the 3rd season that's floating around with the opening scene missing is episode 103- Do A Brother A Favor. I also have this episode complete and uncut including the opening scene.

I have all the episodes uncut except for Patty And The Newspaper Game. For this episode I'm using my 24 minute Nick At Nite copy because the station I'm taping the uncut episodes from didn't air this one yet. I'll have to watch the schedule and if the episode is aired I will tape it.
