When Freddie appeared on this show why did they try to pass off Freddie as Tony Orlando like no one in the audience or watching on TV could tell that was Freddie and not Tony?-lol To me Tony and Freddie looked nothing alike and it was a foolish thing to do like anyone with 20/20 vision couldn't see the difference. Does anyone agree that Tony and Freddie didn't look a like?

I agree - I don't think Freddie and Tony looked alike but evidently there were people who thought they did. I guess it was their long dark hair, mustache, and latino good looks that did it. Tony was much shorter than Freddie and I think Freddie was much better looking not to mention much younger! I think Freddie and Tony liked to make a joke out of it though.

Sounds like he was doing his job...acting. :lol: I also remember an episode when an audience member was brought out because he resembled Tony so much. Then Tony took off his jacket and gave it to the guy to keep. He had the guy put the jacket on and they looked into the camera and the crowd roared and applauded because of the resemblence.

When Freddie opened the show and pretended to be Tony, it was a joke and everyone knew it. But it gave everyone a chance to see just how good Freddie could sing and what a talented all around performer he was. Everyone knew it was Freddie back then. They were just having fun and by no means was this supposed to be serious. I have it on tape and it was a great show..and the joke was funny. As far as looking alike...Freddie told Johnny Carson that he was always being stopped and people thought he was Tony and the same thing happend to Tony..people thinking he was Freddie Prinze. But like catcopy said...Freddie was hands down much better looking, taller and no one had eyes like Freddie. :talk:

To me Freddie's hair wasn't as long as Tonys. Tony wasn't as cute as Freddie. They did work well together tho... :)

It was a running joke because Freddie and Tony resembled one another to most people. They did have same color hair and a mustache, but that's where it ends! (Only if I cross my eyes to distort my vision, they look alike to me) Freddie was breathtakingly handsome and Tony is average looking, IMO.

Freddie hands down was the hottest one of the two. Tony and Freddie had some simularities but Freddie had the better looks from head to toe

Different men. The rock bands members had long hair, guys who went to discos had hair like Tony's, it was the "norm".

Frederico was definately the better looking of the 2. (No offence to Tony fans.) I liked the longer hair on guys. Still do... :)

Tony was older by 10 years. That is what set them a part. They may made a brother like instinct, and looked a little like each other but they each had there own charisma and charm and that was one thing that set them a part
