This case was aired again a couple days ago on LRW. I had seen it before, but it is another intriguing case that I had forgotten about.

The two girls left their apartment to go to the convenience store. They sat outside on the bench for hours after they left. Then, the clerk said that a green pickup truck pulled up and they both got in. Later, their bodies were found dumped on a hillside in the rural desert. I think the girls were like 19 and 20 years of age.

I wonder if the girls were not waiting on this guy? It makes little sense for them to sit there for so long, when their apartment was in walking distance. Statistics show that they probably did know him to some degree, but the cops could find no link with anyone they knew and a green truck.

The killer later came back to the scene and vandalized the memorial.

Anyone know of any updates or leads in this one?

It seems that men in green pickup trucks abducting women in front of convenience stores is a recurring theme on UM.

Are you referring to Diana Shawcroft and Jennifer Lueth? If so, here's a link on the case. It is from the Glendale, Arizona police web site. It's a cold case profile.

Thanks Kane. I stand corrected, the truck was a BLUE truck, not green. Looks like a Chevy Silverado from the drawings.
