I have to admit. For a maybe about half the episode, I was thinking House had cancer. However, I knew there had to be some catch since the show was extended into next year and it's only the show's third season. I just couldn't figure out what that catch was. I also noticed after a bit how House just kept dismissing his "problem". Now, granted that would be in House's nature. Yet, "everybody lies." When it was finally revealed what House was really up to, I thought that was pretty low even by House's standards. Yet, in the same breath it was also a bit amusing and logical by House's standards. He hates talking to people in general. So, pretty much in stead of talking to a shrink and getting anti-depressants, he tried to cut out the middle man. He probably would have gotten away with it, if everyone just left him well enough alone. I thought the episode also showed something significant about his staff. As much as they can't stand him a lot of times, they respect him as a doctor and what he does. I think Cameron spoke a bit for all them when she said that if he wasn't there next year, there would be no point in her staying. Of course, they also showed how they were a bit hypocritical. All of a sudden, he had what they thought was a real problem and they were compassionate towards him. Then, after they found out what he did, they hated him again. I guess they learned from the best.
