I'm going to pick Logan's Run. It had good effects, sets, and costumes, but there really was a neat story there too. I really liked Peter Ustinov and all his cats. Another scene I really liked was the "beloved husband...beloved wife...what does it mean"??
I liked Starman, it was kind of sad though and without alot of special effects.

Aside from Star Wars and Star Trek, I'd say 2001 A Space Odyssey it was great when it premiered back in 1968. I was mesmorized by this film when I first seen it as a kid.
Dark City. No contest.
If anyone likes scifi films with a real plot, check it out. The Matrix completely ripped it off, and it's still the better movie :D

'Back to the Future' was cool. As was 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'. But my fav is 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'. The storyline in that movie is so interesting every time I watch it
