This May, "Law & Order: SVU" will see the return of some old, familiar faces along with some fresh blood to stir up the action.
Rapper-actor Chris "Ludacris" Bridges leads the way for a star-studded guest cast on the NBC drama's season finale, airing Tuesday, May 22. Joining him are Star Jones Reynolds, Steven Weber, Nancy Grace, LisaGay Hamilton, Ernest Waddell, Vincent Spano, Judith Light and Michael Weston.
Ludacris previously appeared on the show as Darius Parker, the step-son of Det. Fin Tutola (Ice-T) and Teresa Randall (Hamilton). When he returns for the finale, titled "Screwed," Darius is on trial for the murder of a woman and her baby. He's represented by defense attorney Matthew Greyson (Weber), who has an impressive track record getting his clients cleared.
"It's so cool to be returning to work with the 'Law & Order: SVU' family," says Bridges. "My first experience was so great and I am honored that they have asked me to return for the season finale. Once again, the amazing script and the talented cast immediately made me accept their offer. I look forward to reprising my role on the show and giving the audience a big bang finale that they will never forget."
Reynolds and Grace will both appear as themselves in the episode as the case gains momentum in the media.
"When I was asked to appear on the show I immediately accepted the honor without hesitation," says Reynolds. "I am very excited to work alongside the incredibly talented cast and crew of Law &Order: SVU as well as the brilliant Dick Wolf."
Reprising their guest roles are Light as Judge Elizabeth Donnelly, Spano as FBI Agent Dean Porter, Waddell as Ken Randall and Weston as Simon Marsden.
The episode also marks the official debut of Adam Beach as Det. Chester Lake, the newest member of the SVU team. He appeared previously this season when he joined Det. Tutola to track down a rapist. Upon his return, he will stick around to help out permanently for the show's upcoming ninth season.
Beach has appeared on a number of TV shows including "JAG" and "Third Watch." His film crdits include "Mystery, Alaska," "Joe Dirt," "Windtalkers" and "The Flags of Our Fathers." He next appears in the HBO film adaptation of the book "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee," which was also produced by Dick Wolf.
Outside of the music world, Ludacris is known for his film roles in "2 Fast 2 Furious," "Crash" and "Hustle & Flow."
