Adamantium 04-07-2007, 09:16 PM California Dreams - The early years of the band The Lubbock Babes - From Just the Ten of Us If The Monkees count, they started off as a fictional band in a TV show that became a band in real life. That's why they didn't play their own music, because they were technically actors playing characters in a band. I'm a big fan of both the show and their music.
