Fox has pulled the plug on the last two seasons of the Bob Newhart Show. That sucks! Bob Rules!! That means we will never see Newhart either. Boo and Shame on Fox and all who have anything to do with them. That is a dirty rotten thing to do. The Bob Newhart Show is the best. I was looking forward to more Peeper Episodes-the one with the horse!! Please call and write and email Fox and let them know just how bad this sucks!

Doesn't surprise me at all. They have to keep cranking out this garbage frrm the last 10 years of television since it appeals to the demographic that buys dvds...or so they think. :rolleyes:

That's really strange. Why in the hell release all 4 seasons and then STOP with only 2 left to go??? That's unusual and just plain dumb. Newhart deserves better. I have just sent them an email.:mad:

I don't believe this news. Until something official comes along, I doubt that Fox would pull this and MTM. Especially with Bob Newhart himself doings o much with commentaries, interviews, etc.

I can see Fox putting the releases on hold to focus on other series for the time being, then coming back to this, but cancel the last two seasons? No way do I believe that. But I will still email Fox and ask them just what the heck is up!

Yeah, I review the sets for SitcomsOnline and I was wondering why the delay. They were coming out very fast. I don't think we've seen the end of them though. It also seems MTM is getting the same treatment, although they probably decided to just drag out their releases so they don't run out of things to release.

I would love to know if it was Fox itself that actually said that they were pulling the plug on this. I can't find anything about it on Fox's website, so I went to another webmaster who should be in the know about this: Bob Newhart's professional (non fan-based) website.

That webmaster knew nothing about it, and went to his own favorite source: tvshowsondvd's webmaster. That person also knows nothing about it, but did offer that the sales on TBNS were not stellar and therefore, Fox may be just slowing down the releases.

We clamor for releases of favorite shows, and the studios are trying to comply. But we have to actually BUY them, and others too, before we'll get more. I've personally purchased all 4 seasons of TBNS (as well as quite a few other things that Bob and Bill have both done).

Fox sent me an email today that simply said that there is currently no release date.

They did NOT say they weren't going to put out Season 5 and 6 ever. They just said there is no release date.
