I sent VEI an e-mail about subsequent seasons of GAB! and I just received an e-mail saying that they don't have a release date yet but they are aiming for the end of 2007. Great news for us fans. The series continues on dvd! Hope this news makes you as happy as it did me. :)

Season 2 has been released in Canada only through VEI. You can buy it at amazon.ca. They have Season 2 in stock now. Enjoy it! It's a great set. Looking forward to Season 3. :)

Yes! This is great news! I think that Season 3 was the best out of all of them! I wonder why they are shooting for the end of 2007 as opposed to late Spring or Summer. Hopefully, we won't have to wait until the very end of 2007 for the Season 3 set! I also hope that VEI is adding some additional bonus material from the show besides the bonus episode from Season 4!

Either way, I will definately be pre-ordering my Season 3 set, like I did for the first two seasons. I can't wait for Season 3 to be released!:)

Yes, I wonder that too, kanisky7896. I was hoping for a release sooner. I think VEI is such a small company that it takes them longer than the average company to produce the shows and get the dvds pressed, etc. Just my guess. Either way, I'm hoping they somehow push the release date up and get it out to us sooner. :)

For those of you who are worried about buying from canada.. don't be.

Those of us who bought the second season from Canada can tell you the shipping wasn't much, and it arrived just as quickly as it would being shipped from the USA. The only difference was about $2 or $3 in shipping.

I don't know what Universal's intention is with GAB!, if any. Many fans of Charles In Charge (which was released on the same day) have stated that the second season of CIC was what most viewers are familiar with. So, maybe Universal will resurrect both shows for a release at some point. As of now though, it doesn't seem likely.

I too am getting anxious for Season 3 on DVD! Hopefully we won't have to wait that much longer. I hope we get Season 3 sometime this summer or fall. :)

I would not hold my breath for any future releases of GAB!. Universal is sitting on it. They aren't known as the "King of One and Done" for nothing. If Universal were in any real competition with VEI, they would have released Season 2 (and possibly Season 3) a long time ago, way before VEI. So, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), it looks as though we will have to rely on VEI for future releases of the show.

Thanks for their email. I will be emailing them about GAB. I'm sure Season 2 sold much better than 1 since we American fans had no other outlet than VEI in order to get season 2. We'd probably have wrinkles on our faces by the time Universal releases it.

If music is the reason season 2 is taking so long than I don't mind a little longer wait. I'd rather have all the music intact than have a quick release with music replaced. VEI has been great about including music so far.

I hope we don't have to wait that long for the remaining GAB! season sets to be released. It would be great if we could get GAB! Season 3 by Fall. Has anyone heard any news from VEI by chance? I've emailed them more than once, but got no response.

Maybe you can get that canadian group to release Season 4 and 5 of Taxi and the rest of Too Close For Comfort as they not getting released in the US that most fans would buy from Canada,just paramount would probably hold them to ransom with the Taxi DVDS.

If/when Season 3 is released, most likely we will have to order it thorugh either amazon.com or amazon.ca, unless we are told otherwise.

I'm surprised that we haven't heard anything yet. There were a bunch of news items on tvshowsondvd.com from VEI but no sign of Gimme a Break! Season 2 came out, officially, in January even though most of us got it in October. So, it's been 7 months since the release. It will be a year in October. I wonder what the hold-up is with getting the show on dvd.

When it does become available, we will probably have to order it from amazon.

I wonder why they take so long to release older shows, but newer shows are released very quickly. King Of Queens ended this year, and has the final season being released in Sept.

But shows like Gimme A Break, What's Happening, Punky Brewster, ect.. take forever to get the entire seasons. Whatever happened to the 4th and final season of Punky Brewster anyways?
