I can tell you, she was extremely friendly. What a sweet kid! I will treasure this for the rest of my life!!! She has such a great personality and sense of humor.......

That's weird. I couldn't find her in the white pages, unless it's a different Joyce Randolph. O well, hopefully most people feel like you do, so she won't get pestered.

I'm sorry that I haven't posted the convo yet, I'm just real busy making plans right now. I didn't want to post the jumbled mess up here. I will need a little more time to sort it out. But here are a few key points we talked about. Of course I invited her to the convention in June. She said "Oh no, I don't travel anymore". I said that I don't blame her. She said that she worries about here son travelling so often with his job. She informed me that she does't accept fan mail anymore, cause it's too much to keep up with. She said that she might consider attending the 2nd convention in NY. She mentioned the article the New York Times put out a few weeks ago. She doesn't own a PC. She's not into modern technologies. SHe enjoys watching the show when it comes on TV, which leads me to beleive that she doesn't have a dvd player.

She isn't planning to participate in any events any time soon, although she is thinking about one may be, but she doesn't like to give speeches. She said that she's not as involved with the USO anymore, cause they are going through some changes. We made each other laugh several times. What a sweet lady she is. I will remember this for the rest of my life! I asked permission to call her again if we plan on another event up north. She said "Sure". She asked me for my name and address, cause she might send me a letter that I can display at the event. I'll try to get the rest sorted out when I can and post it.

You guys are right about calling. It is wrong. I was just going to try and verify her address for Erin. I was quite shocked when she answered. I figured I'd get an answering machine, wrong number, or something. Otherwise I probably wouldn't had gotten the courage to call her. I don't feel guilty that I called her though. It is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I would feel guilty if a bunch of people started calling her, because I made this post. I was just so excited, I had to tell somebody. I hope you guys understand...

Don't feel bad. What's done is done. I'm sure she's had lots of fans want to speak with her over the years, and she's used to it. That said, keep in mind that she's up in age and probably likes her privacy.
