One thing I have worried about, not just Gomer. But all these 1960's TV Shows wont make it through all the seasons on dvd? That is what sucks about loving a older show where I dont know if Young People know about it because it isn't on TV Land & older people might not even havd dvd players:confused:  :(

I have notice allot of shows just lay there on dvd. Laverine & Shirly is like only on season 2... Different Strokes is another.

I did see that Hogans Heros is moving a little, even though I dont ever see much talk about the show on dvd. But they are on like season 4 or something.

* One thing good about Gomer is, I was just at Best Buy and they only have 2 left there. When we bought ours there was about 6 of them there. So that is a decent sign.

I just hope Gomer isnt one of those shows where it takes 2 years for EVERY season to come out. :(

Since Andy was completed I got a feeling Paramount will finish Gomer. Hogans Heroes will finish later this year, I forgot when but it was announced a few weeks back. Paramount has been pretty good with DVD sets. It this was Sony I would be more worried.

That sounds like a good sign doesn't it?

I think alot of it has to do with the studio who releases the dvd. Paramount/CBS and Sony seem to be the best in that they do not abandon a show, they are very slow in releasing them but they seem to do so. Other studios (Universal comes to mind) seem to just forget shows all together. I think the smaller companies do a much better job though, like Shout Factory and MPI. Their releases are fairly fast and their extras are great.

Now my biggest worry is whether some shows will EVER see daylight, i.e Dobie Gillis, Ann Sothern/Private Secretary, Dennis The Mennace, Car 54, Patty Duke, and My Three Sons. I really loved these shows and have not seen them in many years now. Shame on me for not taping them from N@N or TVLand before those stations went down the toilet.

Paramount is always good about releasing shows every 6 months. I think Gomer Pyle USMC will be out this summer.
