Editorial Reviews
Book Description
A Gilligan’s Island legend and volunteer reading tutor relays to kids that they can be anything they want to be, in this brightly illustrated celebration of careers and the natural world.

This inspiring book from actress Tina Louise brings nature and the animal kingdom together to invigorate children to reach for the stars in anything they do. Louise cleverly compares the role of an animal or insect side by side to what a child can grow up to be. Fireflies glow in the dark; an aspiring actress can shine on the silver screen. Spiders spin elaborate webs; an aspiring architect can create a skyscraper. Children will think of their own talents as they read along and be inspired to excel. When I Grow Up shows that amazing things are happening all the time—and that young readers can grow up to be amazing, too!

A Gilligan’s Island icon sets sail with her first-ever children’s book

“Teaching children the skill of reading and a love for the written word is important because this will remain with them throughout their lives. If we can reach children at an early age, I believe it will make a difference. This thought brings me tremendous joy.”—Tina Louise

Thanks again GilliganFanatic!!!!!!!
Maybe... I'll be able to pull off going to one of these to see her (and of course to demand to know what the heck is wrong with GI! But, I appologize, just lost it there...) ... or two, or three... or four of the book signings.... And of course, it would just be a mistake if a picture of Ginger and the rest of the gang slips in with a copy of the story to be autographed!.
But, yeah, thanks!

Miss Louise will only be signing copies of her new book.
Please folkes, do not bring Gilligan's Island or Ginger Grant photos or items to be signed because she can't & won't sign them and the book stores she will be appearing at will not allow it either. This is just store policy being enforced by the publisher. Remember she is there to plug & sell her book, not Gilligan's Island!

Thank you

THANK YOU Jack! I represent "Ginger" on the gilligansisle.com website and I got a nasty email from someone who was mad at Tina because she wouldn't sign GI pix or take photos. I tried to explain, but he didn't understand/care so I told him not to email me again.

Has anyone read Tina's other book "Sunday"? I understand it's very sad, she talks about being sent to boarding school at six (!) years old because she was basically unwanted. :(

Yeah, I'm kinda interested in reading that book, but then again... I'm not always a fan of sad stories.:(
I think I might by her children's book, just because I'm an obsessive GI freak
