I guess it is more socially acceptable to fight in the NHL. I have no idea why.

That's what it looks like-lol One guy said it's because the fans are NOT AS CLOSE TO THE PLAYERS and they have on Equipment. A Fight is a Fight regardless of what you have on. I always enjoyed NBA fights like some people enjoy Hockey Fights and always wondered why NBA fights can't be FUN to watch.

I enjoy a good brawl no matter what sport. I guess I can see your point, but there have been brawls in hockey since the very beginning. It has become a part of the sport itself.

I don't know why fights are more acceptable in the NHL than in the NBA. Maybe because the NBA has a Hip-Hop flare to it as well and that's not the image they want. Hockey to me is the 2nd most physical sport behind football. But yeah, it looks to me that if you're white, your're alright, if your black, get back.

Also, like you said, when whites fight, it's great and exciting, when blacks fight, it's a bunch of thugs who needs to be fined and suspended.

And a lot of pople don't understand that just because you are involved in a FIGHT in a NBA game doesn't make you a THUG. You can be defending yourself like how Dr.J , Magic, and Jordan used to do

On February 16, 2004, during a Vancouver-Colorado game, player Steve Moore injured Vancouver Canucks team captain Markus Näslund by striking him in the head with his elbow while Markus Näslund was reaching for a puck ahead of him with his head low. Markus Näslund suffered a minor concussion and a bonechip in his elbow as a result of the hit. The attending referee did not call a penalty on the play. The hit was later reviewed by the NHL and no suspension or further discipline was administrated to Moore. This drew the ire of many Vancouver Canucks as their captain was sidelined with a concussion for three games. Canucks head coach Marc Crawford publicly criticized the non-call by the referees on the incident.

During another Vancouver-Colorado game three weeks after the Naslund hit, on March 8, 2004, Steve Moore fought Matt Cooke in the first period. Late in the third period, Bertuzzi began following Steve Moore down the ice attempting to instigate a fight. When Moore ignored him, Bertuzzi punched Moore in the side of the head. Bertuzzi grabbed hold of Moore's jersey before "driving him headfirst into the ice."[1] At this point, Moore's Colorado teammates retaliated against Bertuzzi, jumping on the prone Moore and Bertuzzi. Moore suffered three fractured vertebrae in his neck, a grade three concussion, vertebral ligament damage, stretching of the brachial plexus nerves, and facial cuts.

The same could be said about Marty McSorely who was basically blackballed out of the NHL.

Brian, you are so in denial. I notice everytime racism gets brought up, you gets offended and wants to deny it. I am not hung up on race, but once in awhile, I do call the facts where I see it. Therefore, you are in no position to dispute.

First of all, I voiced my opinion on this call-out thread on me. Solomon knew the answer to this, and he probably knew what I was going to say. it's not a matter on what I like or not, I am just stating the obvious.
