Well, I am up to start my Saturday. I wanted to sleep in a little this morning, but some stupid idiot was honking their horn at a very early hour in the morning (well, about 6:30 a.m.), and now I can't get back to sleep.

Anyway...I am up. My Saturday plans are to take my sister to get some of her chores done, then I work for five hours in the afternoon, and then I will see if I can help a friend set up her new computer! She finally has one! She doesn't know what she's in for, but I will help her set up some accounts and stuff to get her access to some online things and for H.I.M. stuff (she LOVES them!). *muahahaha*

I should also fix myself some breakfast. I am hungry.

I don't have much planned for today. I have work 2:30-10, but I don't mind since I get to work with two other lovely people, and one very cute guy ;) I like being around him :drool:

Afterwards, I think my friends and I are hanging out :)

Greetings SO'ers. I just got home from my Saturday NA meeting and now I'm going to go finish my book for my English AP class, Beloved by Toni Morrison. I'm also looking very forward to the Oscars.

Well, I'm going to do _SOME_ homework today, for sure. I want to head into the next town to take pics, but I might just head into the business district to do so.

Other than that, I don't know. I'll be by myself at home. My mom has to work, my dad is in Chicago for a convention, some of my friends are out of town, etc.

I don't have a whole heck of alot planned for today yet, but I do have a few things. Like Janice, I'm waiting for a Netflix DVD, the one where Robin Williams is President or something, I forget what it's called. I also plan on making a couple phone calls, and doing some cleaning. I want to finish cleaning out my mom's car, but I have to open up the vacuum, and try to figure out what that funny smell coming out of it is first. I'm also probably going to clean out the garage a little bit, and take some pictures of my old wrestling stuff, magazines, action figures, etc, so I can try to sell them on Craig's List. After that, I'm probably going to pick up dog doo in the backyard. LOL!! Those are pretty much my Saturday plans so far in a nutshell. Should be a fun day!!

As for me, well since it's a beautiful Saturday after having some rain this week, we will take a walk to the harbor and the beach. After that have some lunch and go to the craft stores so I can buy some stuff for a scrapbook I am working on. I don't want to be home, it is toooooo sunny and warm to be indoors.

I'm enjoying the afternoon because I'm working a 12-hour shift tonight starting at 17:30. If it's a busy night, the time will fly by. I'm still a little messed up from the other night - I responded to a suicide call and when I got there, some kid (about 24 yrs old) had blown his brains out. I was the first officer on scene and had to break the news to his parents - very hard thing to do, but it's part of the job.

I went to the Food Network awards last night in Miami Beach. It was supposed to be from 9:30 to 11. It ran until 12:30. So after getting a bite to eat afterwards and the 3 and 1/2 hr drive home, I ddn't get in until after 5. In bed about 6 and slept unti 11:30. I usually don't like sleeping that late. I used to be able to pull the all-nighter when I was younger. I think I'm too old for it now!!:D

It was cool though. It was something different to do. I saw Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emeril, Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, Paula Dean....all the Food Network celebs. Paula had alot of fans there, and they are nuts!!!

I think I might go over to Universal Studios tonight and check out Taylor Hicks.

Oh my, that's terrible. That poor man and his family. I'm sorry you had to go through that too. I don't think there's ever any getting used to situations such as those. I imagine informing people of their loved ones' deaths is part of your training?

As I recall, Doc here doesn't live in New York, altho he IS originally from there. I believe he grew up in Brooklyn. He lives in WV.

(I REALLY hope I'm recalling this correctly. I always get the Virginia states mixed up. Really would be easier if VA was East Virginia.)

Ok, we decided rather than go to the beach/harbor, we drove to Hollywood and have a late lunch/early dinner.

We tried to pass thru where the Oscars are going to be at, but the traffic was clogged because the road is closed due to preparations. I hope the weather will be as great as it was today. The celebs will love it.

Well, I've been down lately...but this week was a little better i guess.

I got my grad school application completed and mailed in.
I made my list of who gets one in my divorce.
I found my own apartment for next year and filled out the application!

All in all it was a pretty good weekend for your friendly neighborhood TJL folks. Not much was accomplished, but as they say, it doesn't matter how you get there if you don't know what you're doing...

Friday and Saturday night I worked at The Gaf.
I've been supplementing my unemployment income by checking I.D's at the door the past few weekends. The pay is pretty good for sitting by the door for five hours and carding people, and thankfully there haven't been too many problems.
The downside is that I'm not allowed to drink while "on the job," but a bucks a buck.
This weekend was pretty easy - the crowds were thin, and the frat boys stayed away.

Saturday afternoon my roommate and I went to the New York City Comicon over at the Javits Center. Lots of fun. Hundreds of vendors and comic book companies were there peddling thier wares and giving out freebies and other junk. Kudos to all the folks who came to the show in costume, particularly the members of the New York Jedi who were on hand to show off for the crowd.

Lots of celebs from the sci fi fantasy world were there signing autographs, including the great Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Ray Park (Darth Maul) from the Star Wars movies.

Also for some reason, Gary Coleman was there signing autographs. What a bitter looking man he is.

There was a big crowd waiting to get an autograph from prime time TV's favorite indestructible cheerleader, Hayden Panettiere from "Heroes."

At the risk of sounding like a dirty old man because Miss Hayden isn't quite 18 yet, she is one beautiful girl.

The highlight for me was attending the Q&A session with the creators and stars of Adult Swim's "Venture Brothers" which is in my opinion the best thing cartoon network has ever made. They talked with the fans, screened some clips from episodes, did the voices (which the crowd loved) and mocked each other as they took questions from the crowd. A really great bunch of talented guys.

Today I'm working on a few of my jewelry pieces and some custom pins for my friends at the Gaf. I've posted a few items up on ebay, and i hope to get my ebay shop going soon.
