Once, I was taking a bath, and my stepmother and father said that they needed the shower and told me to get out now(they sometimes bathe together) so I quickly got out without finishing. We were going to church I think and we only had one working bathroom. Then they scolded me when I said that I wasn't ready yet(They had told me to get out while I was still bathing, remember), and said, "Why aren't you ready yet?" I'm thinking, "Shouldn't they be saying, "Wow, what an obedient daughter we have", instead of saying, "Girl, why aren't you ready yet?"

I think what Janice means is, her parents made her get out of the bath before she had finished, and then criticised her for not being ready, which I assume she believes is their fault for making her get out of the bath early.

I suppose they could have waited for you to finish washing, and if it wasn't your fault that you weren't ready, I guess it was a bit unfair of them to scold you. But doing what your parents say is usually a good thing, unless they're telling you to steal, or something like that.
