Kirk Cameron and Chelesa Noble (who played Kate) got married in real life.

Julie was Mike's first "real" girlfriend during the fourth season, and also Chrissi's nanny. They kept the relationship a secret during most of the fourth season, in fear of Maggie and Jason firing her. Mike asked Julie to marry him on the last episode of season 4, and on the second episode of season 5, she abruptly called the engagement off. Many people believe it's b/c Kirk found God, but from what I hear it sounds like it might have been the writers and all them(directors, producers, etc), or maybe even ABC, looking out for their good "family" image. It's been a big controversy between gp fans. Anyway, didn't mean to drag it out, but that's who Julie is. Hope I helped! :)

Well, some people think that it's b/c Kirk found God, others think it's for other reasons. Some people liked Julie better than Kate. Some people think that Kirk had Julie booted off the show, and they blame him for getting rid of her, b/c the girl who played Julie was in Playboy. Others think that it's ok that he did, b/c he wanted to be a good Christian. Again, I personally think that it was the people behind the scenes. But that just my opinion.

Thanks! :) Growing Pains is my favorite show ever, so I guess I do know a good bit. But, anyway, right now I don't have cable, so I download my episodes. I wish I did have cable. If I did have cable, I would watch gp faithfully every night. From what I've heard, Growing Pains has a bad time slot. I really wish that they would give them a better slot, so we could recruit more fans. It has been said that gp was before it's time, in it's humor and such. I think that now people would get it, and relate to the Seavers. I know I do, even today! :)

Well, I'm a Christian too, and I know how Kirk felt, if he did boot Julie off the show. It might not have been the right thing to do, but it must have been awkward.
