How many of you have supervisors/bosses who are caring and supportive of their employees?

Well, I do.... However, it gets to me at times. My supervisor and co-worker techs act almost like a family. We have hung out together at restaurant outings, but there are certain things I like to confide in with two certain co-worker friends. I am sad because I hardly get a chance to talk ALONE with one of those co-worker friends, so I feel she doesn't really miss me all that much.

Well, my supervisor lightly mentioned about if I was going to do anything for Lent. I then sarcastically in an annoying manner (is there even such a thing???) told him, "No!" He made mention how I used to do so (I've been working there for nearly seven years later next month), and I snickered and told him, "Yeah, well....things change, you know.... You'll probably just tell other people, anyway...." Then, I stayed quiet. I think he's hurt in the sarcastic tone I replied, but I am annoyed. My supervisor happens to NOT be a person I would confide in personal stuff about. I hate when he proudly tells people, "We've spent thousands and thousands of hours together over the years." Yes, he's a nice and great boss, but I just want to keep it in the professional manner and not treat him like an actual friend. I already have my mind set on being a close friend to two other techs.

My auto company called, and I tried explaining why my payment was 25 days late. I had faxed over the info to try and get an automatic withdrawl out of my checking account, and the woman's voice/strong southern accent just about ANNNOYED the crap out of me. So, I tried explaining and finally just thought, "Enough!" and just slammed the phone on her! I was PISSED! pissed:

Later that day, he HAD to make mention of the phone situation when the close co-worker friend I hardly talk with was in the office, and he also brought up the Lent question and stuff. ARGH!! I told him I KNEW he would say something..... Ooooo.... I'm going to work soon, but I am STILL pissed off. She felt like she was in the middle. Then, I told her I'd like for her to catch me before I left for the day, and she didn't!! ARGH!! I am losing my good friends!!!! Then again, she might've been stressed out about her car that just got totaled the night before. I dunno....Sometimes I just feel like I am a selfish little jerk who needs to just jump into that hole and stop assuming people wanna befriend her.... I'm not worth it!

Yesterday was SUCH a sucky day that I just felt like digigng a little hole and crawling into it. I wanted OUT from everyone around me!!! The more the month of February passes by me, the more I LOATHE this freakin' month!

I am there to work. I don't have to explain MY damn personal stuff to my supervisor. I can choose whomever to talk with about personal things. There are reasons why I confide certain people some stuff, you know.... It's the same with ALL of us. I just don't wish to tell stuff to my boss. And, the next time he sees my sister, I bet he WILL rat me out and tell her all of this. It's, like, WTF???? I can't even say/do anything.....

I am beginning to resent/hate my boss, truly.... and, as a boss, he really IS caring....UGH!! I hate this!!!!

Sorry...this was supposed to be a question/discussion thread, and I just turned it into blabbing out things....I hate this....

That's way too personal a question for a supervisor to ask...that's over the line. I don't blame you for feeling uncomfortable.

Oh hell no. My boss pretty much wants to fire this one lady for missing work a lot because her son has been extremely sick twice this year so far. He doesn't care about anyone but people who kiss his ass.

Can you tell I really hate my job right now? No, I hate the people, not the job itself. The people can jump in a volcano.

Do we work at the same place?

My boss and I are actually good friends. Sometimes though she gets on my nerves. Especially when she tells me that i need to loose weight. Okay, first of all I know I need to loose weight, but you harping me on it is not going to make it happen any faster. I have been the same weight since I started working with her and every time i try to loose weight i end up gaining. Just once I want to tell her that she will probably die sooner from smoking than I will from overeating!! I know she means well, but jeez!!

Oh, yeah.... I totally empathize with you on this. I started this current job as being thinner. Then, I noticed I gained weight. Now, I am taking Step Aerobics, so I look/feel better. I hate it when my boss tries to hint at the fact that I have lost some weight/look better than I did before January 2006. He's always telling people, "See? It's a good thing she's exercising. It's good for her health-wise." Um, yeah..."health wise?" Why don't you just say, "She's lost some weight!" I don't know why, but I do hate little snippy comments like this. Argh....
