View Full Version : Who doesn't on most nights get enough sleep? freshprinceofLA 02-21-2007, 03:39 AM I don't except for the weekends. On school days sadly I mostly get 6 hrs in. But i'm starting to try to get 8 hrs in. Karen* 02-21-2007, 05:45 AM I only get about 6-7 hours on school days. Chocoholic 02-21-2007, 10:50 AM I try to get in at least 7 hours a night during the work week. catlover79 02-21-2007, 10:54 AM For years and years I've had problems with insomia. If I get 5 hrs I consider myself lucky. I may bring this up next time I go to the doctor. It's not fun. :( Janice 02-21-2007, 12:24 PM I'm a mental mess on under seven hours of sleep, and eight is the best. I sleep pretty good at night. I rarely have a problem falling asleep, but sometimes I wake up too early and can't fall back to sleep. I hate when that happens, especially if I have a full day planned. Sharop 02-21-2007, 02:27 PM Sometimes it can take me ages to fall asleep. One night last week, I didn't get to sleep until about 4:30 a.m. (Although I had a cold, which didn't make things worse.) Other times, I'm asleep within half an hour. I probably don't get enough sleep on weekdays, but I do on weekends. Sometimes on weekdays, I only get 5-6 hours' sleep. I am Roboto 02-21-2007, 04:50 PM For people who consistently can't get enoug sleep and asa result are excessively sleepy during the day, there's a relatively new drug called Provigil (modafinil) that can keep you alert and active with minimal sleep. (www.provigil.com (http://www.provigil.com)) As for me, with my sleep disorder (how I know about such things as Provigil), I need at least 10 hours a day to be reasonably coherant. sara 02-21-2007, 05:34 PM I usually get about 5 hours. I'm fortunate that I can function reasonably well without alot of sleep. Number 9 Dream 02-21-2007, 07:03 PM I definitely don't get enough sleep and sometimes I feel it taking its toll on my body. I usually get about 6 hours on weekdays, which definitely isn't enough (I need about 8-9 hours to function normally). Weekends are a little bit better since I can sleep in :) tdf4077 02-21-2007, 08:47 PM What is sleep? Ireneparalegal 02-21-2007, 08:52 PM I'm a mental mess on under seven hours of sleep, and eight is the best. I sleep pretty good at night. I rarely have a problem falling asleep, but sometimes I wake up too early and can't fall back to sleep. I hate when that happens, especially if I have a full day planned. Again, we have something in common. I was going to make a thread abt this very subject. I couldn't get to sleep the other night and was thinking of topics for S.O. It never fails, when I wake up in the middle of the night, it takes me forever to go back to sleep. I have to take Benadryl to help me fall asleep for the night. Then, if I have to get up to go to the bathroom or get something to drink, I am screwed. I will be ALERT! I will either take some more Benadryl and go to bed or go to the couch and watch television. Funny, I wake up in the middle of the night and I am ALERT, YET!!!! when I need to get up early for some reason, I am so damn tired and can't wake up with that same alertness. That pisses me off. dawsongirl 02-21-2007, 10:27 PM I require 10-12 hours a night, so no way. I average 5-6 a night during the week. Brieannas21 02-21-2007, 11:46 PM I get about 5 hrs of sleep a night, mainly because I'm working or doing laundry. The other night my little girl woke up in the middle of the night because she wanted me to read her a book. If it’s not a book it because she wants to go potty, or she wants juice. Zoneboy 02-22-2007, 05:00 AM I have sleep apnea so a good night's sleep is a rarity for me. I can sleep 8 hours or more but I always feel like I haven't had a wink after waking up. Corolla 02-23-2007, 09:12 AM I get about seven hours of sleep on weekdays... school and stuff. Sometimes less than that too, but on weekends I get a lot. :) JuicyCoutureGirl 02-23-2007, 11:55 AM When you have two kids under the age of five, there is no such thing as enough sleep... Besides, I've hadn't had a decent nigh of sleep in almost 20 years, i've tried, but sometimes even I, almost 30, would act like my three year old. Scared. Mr. Cranky 02-23-2007, 12:10 PM Sleep is a big deal to me. I get very cranky on less than 8 hours. |
