Soaps rapidly age kids all the time, but I think it's stupid to do it on a sitcom. Sitcom fans are more judgmental.

Didn't Chayanne's baby age on Reba too?

Did Nicky really age a few years on Fresh Prince? I mean, from the time he was born, to the time he was older in the fifth season, he would have been
2+ years old, and Ross didnt seem to be any more than 3.

On every soap opera they go from baby to teenager practically overnight.
Some of the kids look almost as old as their parents.

In real life, some of them ARE (or just about) the same age as their screen parents. Scary, huh?

This, what's known as "the kid trick," is an all-time sitcom staple.

And on soap operas, it's known as SORASing (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome).

Yeah, on a soap, you have a baby one year and the next he is 20 years old. lol
