i've been thinking about buying the box set for a while, but it is just too expensive. is it a must buy or is it worth just buying a few series', if so, which ones. and also, can you buy a dvd which has all the best episodes on?
The Box Sets are way too expensive. They would be nice to have if you can
afford it. That would be a great idea if you could buy a couple of DVD's of
the most popular episodes, wonder why they won't give us that option?

I had watched several episodes on and off throughout its run, but never watched it throughout its run or anything but liked the show. I bought it from DeepDiscount.com during their semi-annual 20% off sale. Back then, it was something like $180 and then 20% off, for somewhere just south of $150. At less than $15/season, I think it's a good deal, plus you get the box set all together and the booklet. IMO, it was worth it. You can find individual season for $15-$20 often in Best Buy/Circuit City/Target flyers, or you could just get the boxset. Check out DeepDiscount.com, DVDempire.com, and amazon.com and you should find the boxset eventually for $150. If you have to save up for a while, then save up to get it.

It is only worth it if you want to own every season. Our walmart has it for $184.97 that is $18 a season. If you bought them separately it would be more than $20 a season.

I have the whole series and I'd say having the whole series is a must for Friends fans :D

Yeah I've been contemplating one day buying the whole box set, but then I realize the fact that I'm not particularly a fan of season 9.

I think they are worth it. :) I love being able to watch them all in order.

It's not worth it when you can watch it on t.v. everyday and just hit "Record" on your VCR.

To each his own, but I would rather watch the full unedited episodes with extra footage not ever aired. On tv there is a good 1 to 2 minutes cut out and as time goes on even more will be cut. Shows in the 60's ran 25+ minutes now we are down to about 21.

I agree. In my opinion, some of the funniest Friends moments were in the segments which were cut out... :)
