View Full Version : The Lakers are front runners to acquire Jason Kidd in a Trade TVFactFan 02-20-2007, 02:08 PM reported on foxsports.com Well I guess the Nets have no more Interest in WINNING anytime they are trying to getting rid of a guy who has been the main reason the Nets won the Division and had success this decade. Stormtracker TF 02-20-2007, 04:16 PM If the Lakers can get him for anyone not named Kobe Bryant or Lamar Odom they may actually be a contender this playoff season. canuckkidd 02-20-2007, 04:16 PM reported on foxsports.com Well I guess the Nets have no more Interest in WINNING anytime they are trying to getting rid of a guy who has been the main reason the Nets won the Division and had success this decade. The Nets need to rebuild anyway, they are not going to win anything anytime soon. Kidd is getting older and they already have a point guard in Marcus Williams. Don't be surprised if they also trade Vince Carter, he has an opt out of his contract after this season. I think he may leave New Jersey and go back to his hometown and play for the Magic alongside Dwight Howard. I am just wondering if the Lakers are indeed the frontrunners to land Kidd, who do they have that will satisfy New Jersey. I know Jersey will want Jordan Farmer and Andrew Bynum but I don't see the Lakers parting with Bynum. They might give away some picks and possibly Kwame Brown. Should be an interesting trade deadline! Brian Damage 02-20-2007, 10:59 PM The Nets are struggling and maybe it is time for them to rebuild. They do have Marcus Williams. LuLu Rogers 02-21-2007, 12:07 AM Sweet! The Lakers are my team! freshprinceofLA 02-21-2007, 03:21 AM reported on foxsports.com Well I guess the Nets have no more Interest in WINNING anytime they are trying to getting rid of a guy who has been the main reason the Nets won the Division and had success this decade. I also heard the nets are trying to trade carter which is stupid. As for J-Kidd I don't think this is going to happen although he wants to be a laker there are always rumors like this. I hope it happens though. It has about a 45% chance of happening. canuckkidd 02-21-2007, 03:33 PM I also heard the nets are trying to trade carter which is stupid. Why is it stupid to trade Vince Carter, what has he ever done for them? I hear the fans in Jersey are already sick of him not giving a full effort every game, just like he acted in Toronto. Vince Carter is so overrated, he does not have the killer instinct like a Kobe Bryant or Dwayne Wade. I went to the Raptors and Nets game on Valentines day and the Nets were losing by over ten points in the forth quarter. They showed Vince Carter on the big screen and he was laughing. I remember watching Jordan after a Bulls loss just being so angry and hating to lose. Vince just doesn't care, which is why IMHO he will never lead a team to a championship. The only way he will win one is if he joins a team a'la Gary Payton and Alonzo Morning in the twighlight of their careers with a strong leader like Dwayne Wade. It's nothing personal against Vince Carter, I think he is a very skilled player with a lot of talent. But watching him quit on the Raptors and seeing some of the antics others do not see (laughing after a loss, joking around with opposing players), it makes me sick. 45% chance of Kidd being traded to the Lakers, how did you come up with that calculation. TVFactFan 02-21-2007, 06:31 PM Why is it stupid to trade Vince Carter, what has he ever done for them? He's still got a little game. I agree with you he is over rated but he's still a good serviceable player that can be useful to any team. But if the Nets are going to trade both kidd and carter they should get some all star type proven players if they just get a bunch of rejects then it would be a stupid move. The only reason why I think trading carter is stupid is the fact that no one elese would be good. So I say either trade one and keep one, trade both for talent or don't make a move at all. the 45% thing was just a shot in the dark. I can't really give it a full 50% for some reason. canuckkidd 02-22-2007, 11:18 AM Even though vince isen't a franchise type player they should still keep him if they're going to trade kidd. I just think the Nets should trade him unless he gives them an indication he wants to remain a Net. He has the option of opting out of his contract after this season and their is some indication he may opt out and join the Bobcats or the Magic. It is better for the Nets to get something in return then to have him leave for nothing. If Carter and Kidd leave, they still have Richard Jefferson, Nenad Kristic, Marcus Williams, Antoine Wright, and potential Draft picks from trades. Carter and Kidd are at an age where they will never lead New Jersey to a championship. canuckkidd 02-22-2007, 11:21 AM Vince needs to get rid of the-FADE AWAY THREE POINTER" He developed this shot in Toronto and it added to his arenal, but he relied on it too much. Early in his career he was fearless driving and dunking. This shot ruined his career and killed his desire to take it to the rim. That and Kurt Thomas knocking him silly in the 2000 playoffs. |
