They were both annoying but in this case I will say Screech. That's because Dustin Diamond in real life is even more unbearable than Screech. From what little I've heard of him lately, Jaleel White seems very down to earth. Did you hear that DD was in a porn flick? Umm, puke:

Not counting their real life actors, I think Urkel was, considering that eventually unlike on Family Matters, Saved By The Bell didn't wind up revolving around Screech all the time.

However though, as far as the actors do go, Dustin's been more annoying to me, especially recently.

Urkel defintely became more annoying as the show went on. Screech was irritating at times, but like someone else said, at least the show didn't always revolve around him. I actually thought Screech was kinda cute.

OT: If anyone bothered me on SBTB, it was Jessie. I don't know what it was about that girl, but she annoyed the heck out of me.

I don't think I've even watched either show in years. They were among my favorites as a child, but I just can't get into them now.

Then, on the Celebrity Fit Club, whatever fandom and respect I had for the actor and character, flew right out the window.

Urkel.At first,in VERY small doses,his character was easy to take.But then the character became annoying when he was IN EVERY SCENE,(after all,it was called "Family Matters" NOT "The Urkel Show")and as the character got older,his voice got higher,more whiny,grating,and his equally annoying pig-snort("honk honk")was the pits.He was better as Stefan.As for Screech,I do not watch "Saved By The Bell" and can't pass judgment.

Exactly! He was way over the top on the celebrity fit club. I couldn't believe that was him. It just goes to show that you can't judge an actor by it's character. He had a foul mouth, and was loud and obnixous. Yelling at the people who were trying to help him to lose weight. :rolleyes:

It's certainly not Steve Urkel anyway. I actually love that character. And yes, Jaleel White rules! But I agree, that they could have resisted from moving away the focus from the family, so that Jody wouldn't have been fired, and the "real" Harriet wouldn't have left.

I haven't watched SBTB much in the last ten years, except some clips on YouTube, since no Swedish network has aired it since the 90s. Needless to say, my memories of this show is mostly a blur these days, so I can't say much about Screech, because while he didn't annoy me then, when I was a pre-teen, he could annoy me now in my early 20s. But from the little I've seen on YouTube, he didn't seem to be that annoying either.

I would say that Screech is more annoying. Steve was very likeable and made me laugh. Screech never really made me laugh that much, he was just plain annoying.
