View Full Version : Sitcom kids learning to drive...which ep was best??
catlover79 02-17-2007, 06:13 PM Oh, how do I remember learning to drive. I look back now and laugh watching some of these eps:
Marcia learning to drive on the Brady Bunch
Tia and Tamera learning to drive on Sister, Sister.
Even though she wasn't a teen, the episode of Bewitched with Sam learning to drive. Paul Lynde, pre-Uncle Arthur, played her nervous mortal instructor. The way he yells "SELFISH! SELFISH!" is priceless!!
canuckkidd 02-18-2007, 03:48 PM A couple of learning o drive episodes that come to mind:
Kevin in the Wonder Years not being able to Parallel Park.
Dj in Full House crashing uncle Jesse's red Mustang.
Better Days 02-21-2007, 12:04 AM "Clueless" had a good one, with a funny Brittany Murphy(guest star) behind the wheel.
Nighthawk76 02-21-2007, 01:24 AM Tootie learning to drive in the Facts of Life episode "Tootie Drives".
Ireneparalegal 02-21-2007, 01:36 AM Marcia Brady.
I know this isn't a kid, but Lucy teaching Ethel to drive is a classic!
thebloodyscot 02-21-2007, 02:12 AM Elizabeth learning to drive on Major Dad
catlover79 02-21-2007, 02:15 AM Marcia Brady.

You're not alone! My choices are a tie between the following:
Balki Bartokomous on Perfect Strangers
Laverne DeFazio on Laverne and Shirley
JO jr 02-25-2007, 02:52 PM TOOTIE ON THE FACTS OF LIFE. 4 OF HER FRIENDS WERE TEACHING HER THE RULES OF THE ROAD, THE THINGAMAJIGS INSIDE OF THE CAR, AS WELL AS HOW THE CAR OPERATES. ALL WITHOUT LEAVING THE GARAGE.
THEN WHEN SHE WENT FOR HER LICENSE, SHE DOESN'T PASS. WHEN SHE RETURNS TO TAKE IT, THE ONLY CAR AVAILABLE IS FROM HER FRIEND, NATALIE'S PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. WHICH WAS A FUNERAL HOME. SO, SHE'S OUT ON THE ROAD IN A HURSE WITH THE GUY FROM THE DMV, NATALIE HIDING IN THE BACK, AS WELL AS A BODY IN THE CASKET.
THIS WHOLE EP IS HILARIOUS, ESP THE LINE THAT JO STATES SHE DOESN'T LIKE TO TEACH PEOPLE TO DRIVE, BECAUSE THERE'S CRYING AND SLAPPING INVOLVED:lol:
Carl was trying to teach Urkel how to drive on Family Matters.
Scoobiedoo30 03-06-2007, 03:29 PM that was my favorite episode when carl was trying to teach Steve how to try

Monika:
It was the episode entitled "Baby You Can Drive My Car" from Season 1 that aired during the first partial-season on April 15, 1986. It's part of the Season 1/2 DVD set.

megamanj2004 01-12-2009, 02:48 PM Silver Spoons - Grandfather Stratton being taught how to drive by Ricky, but towards the end fo the episode, they accidently crash through Edward's office with a line followed by Grandfather Stratton saying: "I thought I was going in reverse!" Rick then says: "You were!"
Heidi Dawn 01-12-2009, 04:52 PM I thought 'The Hogan Family' episode where Mark and Willie take their driving tests was pretty funny!
This one isn't a sitcom kid, but it was still very funny. It's the episode where Shirley tries to teach Laverne how to drive on Laverne & Shirley. Every time I watch it, it cracks me up.
megamanj2004 01-15-2009, 04:07 PM I thought 'The Hogan Family' episode where Mark and Willie take their driving tests was pretty funny!
Or the S2 episode where Willie took the family's car and got David in trouble in the process was also a good one!

I think it was late S1 or S2, since the closing credits in this clip said 1983.
